You've seen the posts, "REMOVE SBMM, IT SUCKS," and "SBMM IS FINE, IT IS YOU WHO SUCKS."
This topic has had the community completely split between the pros and casuals, and either keeping SBMM or removing it will not satisfy both sides.
But instead of removal, there is another option: Addition.
Instead of removing SBMM, simply add a new playlist focused on only CBMM, a Social playlist. That way both sides will be satisfied. The pros will get their challenging matches on their way to become MLG, and the casuals get their playlist to have fun, to steam roll or get steam rolled.
If you truly want to improve Destiny's pvp then support the cause of Addition, the only way to satisfy both sides of this debate.
Give it a bump for balance, a bump for equal satisfaction.
edit:
Wow, I did not expect this to start trending.

2 RepliesI'd actually have it backwards. Move the current playlists to a CBMM system, then add a comp. playlist with SBMM.

I really wish we could get back to how sniping was before the nerf and all the extra flinch was added. With SBMM I can't muck around and try different snipers, I feel like I have to use a shotgun or sidearm all of the time now! I still enjoy the game but sniping was heaps of fun. I also used to love throwing knifes and the sticky tripmine, why they nerfed those is beyond me. Every subclass should have a sticky grenade, stickies are fun. Bungie are FUN POLICE they kill the fun!

No thats dumb... f cbmm and sbmm add Ranked based match making
-
2 RepliesThere should simply be an option to switch between sbmm/cbmm whenever you want.

Edited by Kone19ps: 11/14/2016 8:36:27 PMThis would not solve and likely barely impact connection problems. Bungie also already said the casual playlist in halo didn't work. Most played ranked and there was never a strong enough population in unranked to justify it as it made the purpose of more diverse skill and better connections mute with no player population. Right now connection is prioritized. Skill is considered. I believe it was 60% connection, 20% sbmm, 10% region. Fireteams also muck up the whole system

The games I lost this weekend wasn't because the other team was good, it was because people don't understand the point of control. People are going for kills and not trying to hold or capture points. People need to learn that control is not TDM!

Make everything Connection based first just like Year 1 and then Add SBMM separately

As long as the social playlist have the same loot then fine. I bet the CBMM games would be empty after a week. The reason people hate SBMM is because it prevent them from crushing casual players time after time. Lag is just an excuse.

Bump. I like it

Bump :)

I agree totally. Perhaps, fireteams can be limited to 3 in the Casual playlist so that it's impossible to six man stomp?

SBMM doesnt exist, its already CBMM but we all know why this cant work with bungie current servers

2 RepliesUnfortunately - a trend among the so-called MLG is to boast about high KDs and win ratio, meaning they are likely to pubstomp the casual playlist in order to increase their chance of maintaining or increasing these statistics as casual players might provide less of a challenge. As much as I love seeing this option - I hate to tryhard PvP - I don't think splitting the playlists like that will work :(
