All hate on crotas end is from people who ONLY cheesed the raid.
Play the whole thing legitimately and it's not nearly as easy as people seem to be remembering it. Most of the time, it required someone to cheese it in order for teams to actually beat it.

I got a solo flawless doing it the legit and cheesed way. It's a glorified strike at best, and a lame story mission at worst.

I don't know who lied to you, but you can cross the bridge by stepping on and off the plate. You aren't jumping across the chasm with a sword, it's legit.

Crota is fun even when you cheese so you can solo it. I enjoy it at least.
