Dark-Drinker or Raze-Lighter
Which is better for the Raid?
I have been holding off on running the Raid, but plan to soon.
I know people have recommended one or the other.
Which do you recommend, and why?
I'll be choosing which to infuse to 400 so any advice is welcome.

Seems pretty strongly weighted toward Dark-Drinker. Guess Raze-Lighter's usefulness is limited just to the Captains?

6 RepliesI picked Raze Lighter. I have 17000 kills with that thing and I like it. I tried Dark Drinker but wasn't as effective with it. Not the swords fault but mine. I know it does better DPS but I work faster with RL so for me it evens out.

I prefer Raze but Dark Drinker is better. Raze's stun on the captains is invaluable though.

Dark Drinker. Destroys Aksis and Void shield captains are plentiful enough throughout that you will enjoy it. But I second Datto's advice for Outbreak Prime, shotty and RL on Vosik. Sword is good there but you are forced to snipe or use primary for boss damage; he modes too much for either.

Raze Lighter for all but phase 2 of Aksis

Dark Drinker does the most damage to Aksis, and can kill captains with one melee plus one trigger. Raze-Lighter is slightly safer to take out captains due to the stun, but not by much, imo.

Dark Drinker does more damage. my group basically all just sword. but i like a lil Orange mixed in with the purple. So i like running the lone Raze. True it doesn't do as MUCH dps. but still good. Just my personal preference that i go Raze.

I use dark drinker up to aksis because the captains are void. Then switch to raze lighter during last boss. I'll usually use cannons instead of dark drinker for DPS. I just like the range and AA tracking of raze lighter better. But both are excellent for any encounter in the raid.

2 RepliesNeither. Arc Bolt FTW. Dark Drinker is only useful for the last boss. Arc Bolt is useful the entire Raid. And of course you're gonna have people saying, "But Dark Drinker does so much damage to boss!" Yeah, yeah. You have 5 rounds to kill Aksis...do you REALLY need to use Dark Drinker so that you can kill him in 2? No. Most teams can easily kill Aksis in 3 rounds, even with only 4 or 5 people alive.

Easier to hit Aksis than Raze-lighter (with Raze-lighter you sometimes gets dragged away by the magnetic auto-aim it has and miss an uppercut entirely - that doesn't happen with Dark-drinker). 2. Even if you hit every swing with Raze-lighter I think the hits you get on each trigger-pull with Dark-drinker deals more damage totally (I'm not entirely sure about this, but if this turns out to be incorrect, see 1.) 3. All captains in the Voksis fight has void shields so if you decide to use a sword there dark-drinker is better. 4. It's simply cooler, looks better and the special attack looks better imo.

Dark drinker is better for the raid. But in general purpose its raze lighter. I'm just glad the dark drinker is finding more purpose. Have always loved that sword.

Dark drinker simple. People are saying raze lighter for captains but dark drinker totally destroys them in 1 spin attack aswell so just make life easier for urself and take a dark drinker

3 RepliesRaze lighter for captains for sure. If your a cannon holder on phase 2 then raze lighter as well. If your main damage for phase 2 is gonna be you running up to the boss to damage him then dark drinker.

Dark drinker if you plan on using it for DPS on Aksis. In any other case you can pick either.

Swords can be extremely useful in all raids. I would make sure I have at least 1 raze lighter or dark drinker as they can both deal great effectiveness to Aksis and the Captains. Over all raze lighter is quick on the captains and dark drinker deals the most dps to Aksis in the game (out of every weapon). I personally run dark drinker as it is fairly good in all aspects.

I like both but if I had to choose for raid I'd choose Dark Drinker as i believe it's better for destroying Captains/Adds and Aksis. Raze-Lighter is awesome though.

Raze lighter isn't very useful in the raid unless you JUST want to kill Captains. Dark Drinker is the most useful in the raid as it can handle captains, Aksis damage, and exploder shank mobs without making them explode.
