Fallen names meaning

So obviously the fallen house names are just what we call them like how we call them fallen not Elinksni. But names in destiny always seem to have a hidden meaning. I.e. The cabal having roman military names referring to their militaristic philosophy. So here are my thoughts on their house names Devil: they seem to be the most aggressive. I don't think I need to point out the connection. Maybe in their old civilization they were soldiers? Wolves: they're deceitful. They betrayed the awoken. In most literature wolves are tricksters. I don't have any predictions as to what they were on their planet Exile: these guys are pretty obvious Stone: again pretty easy. They were stubborn and stayed behind during their collapse. King: again easy. I'd say they were leaders. Winter: IDk if you could help that would great. Let me know what you think Edit: hi so I know I left out houses rain, scar, and judgement. I didn't think about them because we don't see much of them.

  • Might be interesting as well that the names of the fallen leadership are based upon ancient greece. The Archon was the highest leader of a Greek city, Kell was the name of a giant that Hercules fought on one of his battles and Prime is the Greek word for first or highest (as in the English prime minister or something).

  • I think it is also worth noting that the Fallen have names for their houses as well based on their names for their Ketches, Primes, and lesser servitors. Sepiks=Devils Simiks=Winter Kaliks=Wolves Orbiks=unknown house that was assimilated into the House of Wolves Menkis=unknown, possibly splicers?

    • Maybe Wolves were once spies and politicians.

Maybe Winter attacked with the fury of a blizzard?

      • This is great. You forgot a few though. House Exile exists because they wish to be free and not ruled. That is why you see so few Captains on the Moon. House Exile does not want to be treated like they used to be treated in the other Houses. Like vermin and scum. They are a more recent House that was not originally founded on their planet. House Judgement are the law makers. They delivered the punishment if you broke the law. I actually believe House Scar was in charge of this part. A scar is a great reminder of your mistakes. So maybe House Scar was House Judgement's enforcers. They made the bad guys remember the punishments for breaking the laws. House Winter is more advanced and seem to prefer themselves over fighting. So like our Winters. They can be cold and cruel but slip in silently and slowly chip away at everything. Like they do to the Academy. Slowly they wait for the secrets to reveal themselves. Also Winter is patient. They don't brazenly attack us without methodical planning. Their Kell didn't launch a full assault when we approached him. He took it from afar. With his Guard being the ones to attack first.

House of Winter: They were clearly technologically advanced, noting that they were the ONLY house to own heavy pikes. I believe that they were a branch of elinski military, most likely the tech-y side. They have many tanks, snipers, and heavy pikes which furthers my beliefs. House of Devils: Highly agressive, most likely the main military force of the Elinski. And being called devils for fighting expertise is pretty intimidating. Most likely the fodder of the elinski military, since they were the largest group attacking twilight gap, and after the crushing defeat their numbers have not dwindled. House of Wolves: Either the Elites of the military, or a Reformation group. Their numbers were MASSIVE before the Reef wars, many were taking out by the Techeuns (if that is how it was spelled) and their Harbingers (The blue balls in the TTK opening cutscene) and the rest either retreated or were quickly slain. The reason I think they were the elites is because of their size. A military that survived that long against Oryx and survived to escape must be pretty skilled. More likely however they were a large group of elinski who decided that the rule of Kings is faulty and they decided to leave, creating a new House. Quoting Variks as he says "Cannot keep Wolves from Kings, Scar from Winter. Fell to fighting, fell to hate." I prefer the traitor theory more however, since they were so deceiving. House of Scar: Very little is known about these rascals other than the fact that they didn't seem to be good friends with the House of Winter. Variks says, "Cannot keep Wolves from Kings, Scar from Winter. Fell to fighting, fell to hate." I really do not know much of these, I would guess that they were more unruly, maybe they were jealous of the House of Winter's tech and tried to steal it. Taniks pushes this point since he was sent to "Plunder the Hive" House of Stone: They stayed on their planet after the "great whirlwind" and their kell stood like stone against the Maw (Oryx) until the Traveler left the elinski to their doom. House of Rain: They were told prophecies. They told of the "Kell of Kells" Exiles: Mostly dregs who got kicked out because they are crazy. They chill with the hive.

                  • The meaning behind "Wolves" would vary heavily depending on the culture you're deciding to go with.
