Yesterday I reached 400 light. I consider myself a fairly casual player and am pretty surprised I got here so quickly. With the TTK I played for 4 months and never managed to reach max light. Think I got to 317 when 320 was max.
For me the idea of constantly improving light level is what keeps me playing. Reaching max light should be very hard, a milestone only the hardcore members of the player base can reach.
I really like the new raid, but there is far too much loot in my mind. So many exotic chests(5-6 I think), and now challenge rewards.
I generally found that every hard raid completion my level would increase by 2-3. A simple fix would be to half the number of key fragments. I have never not had enough cache keys to open each chest throughout the raid. In my opinion we should only be able to open one chest(on average) per raid completion.
So for me my interest in ROI is going to wane very quickly. I can see myself completing the Aksis challenge next week and im done til Destiny 2. Might pop back for SRL, but I wasn't the biggest fan as there are other games that do this better.

Eat funyuns. That's what I'm doing

3 RepliesThey did it because people like you complained they couldn't hit max light.....

1 ReplyYou're an idiot.

1 ReplyAllow me to translate... "Look at me! I made 400! I bet a lot of you didn't yet!" Now that we've cleared that up, allow me to congratulate you. I unfortunately don't share your world view that only "hardcore" players should reach level 400. I eschew the elitist mentality you see, but I am after all a man of simple tastes. If you want to argue the game is too short, agreed. If you want to say there should be more replayability, we could talk. To flatly state progress should be throttled because you personally believe it should be is hardly worth addressing. The board is littered with posts to the contrary.

Have a goal other than light

4 RepliesEdited by Corrick II: 11/5/2016 1:08:17 AM"Too easy" is relative. For some people who play a lot and have a regular strike team, sure, it's easy. Others who don't have that get stuck at the 365 and 385 barriers for a while. The fact that you're at 400 light on a character means you are certainly not casual.

1 ReplyHit 400 almost two weeks ago. I agree, it was fairly easy (in my opinion) to hit 400. I ran a lot of raids and crucible, so my drops were insane.
-
1 ReplyAlso learning how to spell and use grammar wasn't too easy for you. Go read a book if you only play for the number beside your name
-
Yeah they made it easier which made it funnier but then they did not add any new content so you get to the end quickly now But the old grind was just beyond stupid
-
I didn't read your thread. I just read the title. Based off that, I agree. It's way too easy to hit Max light level. some people may give you s***, Saying things like, "before it was too hard and everyone complained, and now your saying it's too easy." Fact of the matter is, it's way too easy. It's pathetically easy. They have not found a medium. Your rank/level should be determined not only by experience, but your skill as well. Rank/level is completely RNG and luck, not to mention, you could be carried to your maximum power level. If only Bungie you would focus Less on RNG, & more on earning & experience, not only for rank/level, but gear as well..

It's fine. You've raided a few times and got max light. Sounds right to me or do you need Destiny to fill the giant gaping void in your life like it's Jesus-blam!-ingchrist

1 ReplyI have to disagree here. I took a long break right after TTK came out and when I came back, it seemed all I was ever doing was stuff to improve my level. This way, reach max then play just for fun, go do VOG. or crota just because it's fun. Now I k ow that reaching and progressing is satisfying but it can and does take away from actual fun a lot because let's face it, we are wired to want to reach max light and if nothing else, there is a subconscious desire to beat all of your buddies to it. Just my 2 cents, btw, I have been stuck at 399 for 2 weeks, I can't get a helmet to save my life and the one engramn I had ended up same level.
-
As a non-casual player I agree with you (I hit 400 light on all my characters during the weekend the same week HM came out - that shouldn't even be possible). I think exotic engrams being the biggest problem here.
-
We have a more progressive system now. At the beginning of TTK you'd get drops under your current level, which is quite pointless...
-
Who cares. Go play another game if you are done.
-
10 RepliesThey to find a middle fround, year one was hard year 3 is to easy.
-
1 ReplyThen go play a different game. Because, games like this dont' end simply because you reach level cap.
-
Play another game. I've put many hours into destiny since day one. There's not going to be anymore dlc. Destiny 2 next year. Time to enjoy other titles
-
I think the amount of drops in the raid is supposed to make up for the kind of loot that drops. 5-6 exotic chests + bonus chest from each boss = the satisfaction players got from y1 loot. I was surprised how quickly I got to 394 without doing the HM raid, but they seem to have cut me off on my exotic drops. I'm not getting drops near as often, and my last 7 exotics have been the same level or lower than what I have equipped. Hopefully IB next week will help move the chains again.

I actually prefer it this way. I don't like to raid but I play the raid because I want to get to 400 fast. Trials also can get you to 400 fast so I like that they implemented this type of light level infusion. I've known people that quit destiny because they couldn't get to max light because of a ghost or a class item. That's why they changed it. Be 400 and enjoy the rest of the game.
-
Well most of TTK had a RNG loot system. Didn't matter how long you played, you may have never reached 320 until they implemented the progression system.
-
Delete your characters. Start fresh. 👍

2 RepliesI get your point. PvE players that raid can max light very fast.It is not the same for PvP players. You need a lot more time to get to 400 (and RNG by your side).
