Trials has always seemed like a battle for the best prestige as well as gear for those who pvp, same way as there are raid armor for PVE. but because of the lack of weapon tuning (all guns should have same Time To Kill (TTK), other than perks), and light level difference isnt a thing even though its supposed to be (damage based on light in ratio to max light). trials should be the sign of the elite in terms of teamwork and tactics.
TL;DR I'm a filthy casual who thinks the sweat on the other team pouring into my time rewinding is ridiculous considering 98% of the pop who play the game, to have fun. I don't discredit steamers, just those who take a serious as neurosurgery
EDIT: In destiny it's cool to have supers, but I think I'td be also good to have a barebones edition reminiscent of before the last city was made to prove your worth, maybe reduced times on ammo, and debuff to super recharge or perhaps super only usable when last guardian alive.
Thoughts on the edit?

There are plenty of other games that have modes very similar to your request. Like battlefield.

6 RepliesSo you dont like when people are competitive and actually try to win and outplay you? Ever heard of little big planet? Give it a try

Eliminate supers and make subclasses with weaker neutrals and stronger supers useless, definantly

2 RepliesWhilst I don't think that there is anything wrong with having alternative modes which alter the regular flow of Destiny features/game mechanics (like no radar or no revives) - the 'pinnacle competitive Destiny pvp mode' (i.e. Trials) should represent every gameplay feature that makes Destiny what it is - including special/heavy ammo, various exotic armour pieces, supers, etc. The purpose of trials is not, and has never ever been, to test out the 'pure gunplay' of one guardian against another. The purpose is to play two teams off against one another with all of the game's regular gameplay mechanics in place, in an elimination style mode that forces strategy to take almost as large a part as gunplay. Deciding whether to try and aggressively take the heavy box, vs spread out and get good angles on it to shoot down the team going for it, or popping a super and hoping to wipe the team while everybody is distracted going for it - IS a fundamental part of what makes up overall Destiny skill. Strategy and positioning are massive parts of skill. Bungie will never make a permanent change to trials like what we've seen over the last weekend.

Edited by s6ku: 11/3/2016 8:11:40 PMBut why take supers they help me clutch rounds
like I'm good at trails am I right ha ha ha ha... ;-;
Play battlefield if you don't want supers and OP heavy weapons. Personally I would love to have a melee and nades option for matches but I couldn't play it for more than 20 minutes.
-
TL:DR: Let's make Destiny into CoD.
-
What is with these idiits wanting Supers removed Special removed Heavy removed Etc Etc Go play privates then if you want specific shit. I love the radar and revives removed and that makes sense, but seriously ... supers now ? Omfg shut up people
-
have you ever been flawless?
-
If they took away supers, it wouldn't be destiny, no radar? That's how you use tactics. Go back to COD kid

1 ReplyChecks k.d Ahhh no.
#satire

good points but remember adding supers and one heavy box adds new variables to trials which is necessary
-
Ok I disagree with everything you just said. You may as well call it COD
-
they are all relatively close to the same ttk in their respective encounters

5 RepliesEdited by TeddyBundy: 11/3/2016 8:12:09 AMHow Trials should be: - No revives. It's Elimination. What dies should stay dead. OR at least expand the revive timer and don't give overshields and immunity frames to anyone. - No ghosting, screen turns black. - Decreased Radar range. - Just two Special Ammo shots (1 mag for Sidearms) at the start of the match. - Every Special Ammo box contains only one Bullet (half a mag for Sidearms) and spawns randomly with no indicator. - Flipping Spawns every round. - Control Zone spawns randomly on at least three possible locations. - No Heavy round. - Skillbased Matchmaking. Not impossible for low tier teams, not a walk in the park for high tier teams.

If you eliminate everything you would see how broken primaries are You can't compete with some god roll weapons no matter how good you are Getting 2 shot by palindrome is so much fun

Im so triggered rn.

Take out heavy and special

1 ReplyThey should make supers like kill streaks. Only maybe like 3-4 not too hard for the spit dribblers, but only once per life and or a cooldown before the bar can even go up. That way supers have to have some thought put inot them before being popped. This shouldn't be a blanket thing, just for the really competitive stuff. That way in competitive game-modes you can't play a timer for basically free kills (@ skorri's stormcaller)

I mean you can have a barebone game mode. They put in private matches. You can make whatever rules you want.
-
35 RepliesFrom your stats I see you're not even good at pvp, so why would you worry about how competitive the pvp is? Was the no radar week easier for you since it required less skill than normal to go flawless and now you want no radar to be permanent?
-
Yeah doesnt matter how much gunskill you have against a red bar warrior. Second it just opens the door even more for teamshots.
-
Can you teach me to Trials?
-
2 RepliesHeavy round now is more competitive because there is only one and supers are balanced and easily shut down.

For example, you can only chose these weapons The Hand Cannon THE Scout Rifle THE Auto rifle Etc. As long as weapons differ across types, PvP gun skill isn't as balanced.
