I think that there shouldn't be a cap on glimmer. I don't see why there is a cap.

The grind... Have to keep it real Besides... Humanity would get overrun with no guardians on patrol

Edited by RedBarchettaYYZ: 11/2/2016 12:11:06 AMI put on a ghost shell that gives me glimmer for killing fallen. I go to the archons forge. Put in a SIVA offering. I get SO MUCH GLIMMER it's not even funny. Since bungie basically cut off last gen consoles, I think a change in the glimmer cap should be considered. Same for vault space.

Bungie Logic! Glimmer is OP!
-
I don't mind a cap, just the fact that it's so little. 25k? I can start at zero and jump to max glimmer in just a couple hours at max. If they made it 50-100k I'd be happy.
-
Thats what i said in year 1 also there shouldnt be a max on legendary marks

5 RepliesSadly the glimmer cap is needed. If you were the type of player that barely touches glimmer except to spend a little on upgrades/ infusion the amount you would currently have would be ridiculous. Just to make sure I had some saved glimmer for ROI I vaulted a lot of codex, and similar 200 glimmer items. Enough to fill my glimmer again if I had to. Just a creative way around it that many players use. There would have been nothing stopping you when ROI dropped from buying basically enough weapon parts/ heavy ammo/ materials etc. to go faction level to 390 in no time. Glimmer would essentially ruin the grind and eliminates most of your in game playtime. And we can't have that now can we?

Bungo struggles to make things right in this game
-
Because Bungie likes making basic things as inconvenient as possible.
-
If glimmer had no cap, then the glimmer count would be used as a metric like a score. The person with the highest score is the winner. But Bungie can't and doesn't like anyone to be better than anyone else, so they make it the same for everyone.
-
Hold on to the items that give you glimmer so you can save up. It's like saving in gold and lack exchanging it for paper money.
-
I think the game needs a glimmer cap, but I think it should be 50k instead of 25k.
-
The cap helps keep people playing. If I'm constantly upgrading I'll run out eventually where as if there was no cap I could spend a month grinding 500k glimmer and be set for a year (I'm just guessing, I've no idea really).
-
1 ReplyBecause destiny was originally designed on last gen consoles
-
2 RepliesIf there was no cap, I'd have so much that it would become a useless resource. Just like how there's a cap on Marks, that way it keeps you intrested/having to manage your resources, so you can't buy everything.
-
Bungee likes to control things.
-
Bungie is socialist
-
8 RepliesThere should be exotic ghost shells, one that increases max glimmer cap, one for legendary marks, one for more room fpr armor and weapons instead of 10 you can carry 15. Stuff like this
-
6 RepliesTo manage the in game economy. Extra Credits has a video about it on YouTube, video game economies that is. Placing a cap prevents hoarding.
-
I would be so rich if there wasn't a glimmer cap tbh :,( lol

To keep Xur's worth, for heavy and 3oC.

3 RepliesSame reason there's a cap on Rupees.

That feel when tending ;-;

There isn't a REAL reason. I guess you could say they capped it to keep player login times higher, extend the grind. Even though it never really affected me, i believe even a casual like myself would easily have 150k. Then I'd do what i always do with it, buy heavy ammo when i want to rank up factions. So.....i kind of shot down my point. See? Lol. Gotta be honest It's only a real issue when you don't pay attention and you're at 25k. You might miss out on a few grand or Have to stop and run to the tower to buy heavy, etc. It's not too big an issue though. I think it should be raised to about 100k. You'd be way less likely to hit max. Would be nice if you could use the app to buy heavy ammo/weapon parts too
