How did Eris lose her ghost?

Ghosts need the light to live, and her needing to use the darkness probably killed it. Thats why we can revive them i think, we either have our ghosts repair them or just put a few motes of light in em, just enough to repower them all done while in orbit, transmatted to the ship, or given to the speaker for repairs.
