Never buying silver or any other ingame 'currency'.
People who buy that shit are creating an environment for greedy asshats who want us to throw money at the screen.
Clarification: I don't mind adults spending their money on things. If Bungie sells something for a fixed price and people are stupid enough to shell out money, so be it. I still find that questionable, because this one thing is awfully expensive compared to the cost of a whole game.
What I find criminal is to hide the real cost of things behind a RNG system that makes you accept a much higher cost because you don't get told the probability of items. Bungie just tells us which items we get by chance without any method to evaluate the potential price tag! That's not a fair buissines tactic.
IGN needed around 100$ to get all items from the FotL packages. That's the price of the whole vanilla game plus HoW and CE. Do you think that's an incentive for Bungie to bring us more planets, cutscenes and missions, or will they make more superfluous 'events' to sell you even more of that wonderbag stuff?
Would you buy any good in a shop where you have to pay first and then roll on a secret loot table? You want some german beer and get 5x root beer and some bread instead? Would you pay until you got your real beer?
Thanks for the intense discussion. Never tought this would go that far.
Edit: Corrected a spelling error. (I am german. Hints on how to write something correctly are appreciated.)

It's alright, I've paid enough for the lot of you. You know if the game makes money it gets better, right?
-
Video games have been $60 for decades. MT's have been around for more than a decade. Hasn't effected me or my gaming 1 bit.
-
I'll take pride that I never bought any random chance. All I bought was stuff I knew the price for, namely emotes. I've never gambled, and instead only bought some stupid dances like jump on it and hotline bling. :)
-
Paid zero silver? You mean didn't buy any silver? Or Haven't even spent the free 100 silver you start with? I know half of you used that shit.
not serious
-
You can convert Silver to Silver Dust and purchase Chroma! Thank Gawd, because I needed to add to the 400+ in my vault that didn't cost a -blam!-ing dime.

False this game rocks https://youtu.be/BSkSDwZAU1A

I wish there was a way to earn Silver in game,
-
This bs made me buy GOW 4 season pass plus 100$ worth of loot crates
-
It aint worth my money
-
I've gotten free Silver, that's about it.
-
I have spent money Sole reason: this game, while it has its flaws, has brought me more playing time than any other game ever has. I do think there should be a package for maybe 10$ that guarantees the exclusive mask, (blue skull or fire wolf) and sparrow, shader and emblem for the people that really want it I paid 25$ this time and got every mask, a bad juju ornament and then the Fire wolf mask.
-
I totally agree with what you're saying I spent £15 because I wanted the ghost ghost ended up only getting consumables, masks and the devil ghost, It's absolute bull.
-
They should have made it possible to earn the treasure chests like blizzard does with loot boxes in Overwatch. Simply playing the game, via xp or quests should reward treasure. The paying for RNG loot isn't new though.
-
Not my thing personally, but I won't tell entrepreneurs not to take advantage of people who want to throw money at the screen. Feel free to take their money because you already got enough from me :) Small caveat: make sure the OP gear sets we'll be able to buy via the eververse in the future are visually distinguishable so us freeloaders can identify pay to win folks jk ;))

The only time I bought silver was when playstation gave us 10 dollars for free

Wikipedia - Fukubukuro (福袋?, [ɸu͍ku͍bu͍ku͍ɽo], "lucky bag", "mystery bag") is a Japanese New Year custom in which merchants make grab bags filled with unknown random contents and sell them for a substantial discount, usually 50% or more off the list price of the items contained within. The low prices are usually done to attract customers to shop at that store during the new year. The term is formed from Japanese fuku (福, meaning "good fortune" or "luck") and fukuro (袋, meaning "bag"). YouTube video from TheUwagaPies.

Nope. I refuse to support their microtransactions.

Paid zero cuz i sold the game over a year ago. lol destiny

Spending money on stuff like cosmetics doesn't do anything bad. It's when people start accepting rep boosts and other game affecting items, then the issue arises.
-
I'm no sucker
-
Ikr, a4 of my friends got everything with only 20 bucks. So annoying. I spent 30 and got everything except the kkk ghost.
-
Well -blam!- me, I paid five dollars

My problem is this event this year is pointless as hell I've made 2 videos an commented on briar an tefty teft videos here my issue. 1 bungie hypes this event up with a trailer an showing all great loot u can get which is locked behind a pay wall while yes u can earn up to 3 free boxes not everybody has 3 guardians on destiny an plus the boxes are rng based anyway. 2. The candy bags this year are pointless an don't let u obtain the masks like they did last year or even the new consumables. U get a shader an 2 old things. why not add the new masks an consumables to the bags when u fill them up?. it even says on the bag 2016 festivals of lost so why we get 2015 stuff. 3. The quests were the exact same as last year aside from one an u couldn't even wear new masks on missions aside from 1. how does bungie expect this event to last 2 weeks when it's dead within 2 days?. They said it was bigger an better this year but yet only thing bigger an better is people's wallets an how much they spend. 4. Even Eva selling masks they don't rotate it's the same ones each day. Bungie needs learn to balance this have ppl pay with there play time.not there wallet. an have them earn the loot an grind for it the players who enjoy your game. 5. All bungie has to do is Tues on reset add the 6 new consumables to the candy satchel bags an the new masks. then add the ghost shells an new sparrow In pvp drops as reward like they did with the shader. All in all yes we got new shaders an cool sparrow which Is going away but it's just decorations for 2 weeks that's it I agree with u an maybe on reset bungie will fix this it's not a good way am hope u unknown player more console make videos about It
