Please like, if you paid zero silver to this date.

Never buying silver or any other ingame 'currency'. People who buy that shit are creating an environment for greedy asshats who want us to throw money at the screen. Clarification: I don't mind adults spending their money on things. If Bungie sells something for a fixed price and people are stupid enough to shell out money, so be it. I still find that questionable, because this one thing is awfully expensive compared to the cost of a whole game. What I find criminal is to hide the real cost of things behind a RNG system that makes you accept a much higher cost because you don't get told the probability of items. Bungie just tells us which items we get by chance without any method to evaluate the potential price tag! That's not a fair buissines tactic. IGN needed around 100$ to get all items from the FotL packages. That's the price of the whole vanilla game plus HoW and CE. Do you think that's an incentive for Bungie to bring us more planets, cutscenes and missions, or will they make more superfluous 'events' to sell you even more of that wonderbag stuff? Would you buy any good in a shop where you have to pay first and then roll on a secret loot table? You want some german beer and get 5x root beer and some bread instead? Would you pay until you got your real beer? Thanks for the intense discussion. Never tought this would go that far. Edit: Corrected a spelling error. (I am german. Hints on how to write something correctly are appreciated.)

    • I don't see the point in the moral outrage, but hey - it's the Internet! If you don't want to buy cosmetics, don't. I landed in the tower, thought the candles everywhere look as shite as last year, sidestepped all the mooks dancing in stupid masks, got my bounties and went off and played as normal. Will bungie or Activision care? Probably not

      • You're right, but it's nothing to be proud of. Like "oh wow, I don't spend money! Look at me. I'm one of the cool kids." I'm not sure why people try to impress others on the internet. Only cats can do that.

        • I think people paying for absolutely useless ingame stuff are a huge part of cancer of the gaming community, nears as huge as cheaters. Supporting DLC's is bad enough, but I'm okay with that because in most gamed it's real content. But for gods sake, stop supporting this Microtransaction bullshit. Festival of the Cost is the perfect example...a bullshit event just made to get the money of dumb people.

Is that some sort of accomplishment? I'm 25 years old with a full time job, I have bought silver because I wanted to. Bungie/Activision ain't forcing you to buy anything lol.

          • I have never used microtransactions in any game and i never will. I never judged anyone if they support them because it is their choice to use microtansactions not mine.

          • What gets me is when people complain about microtransactions in a game that they play. It isn't just the money that keeps the game alive but the amount of active players versus the investment and goals they have set for the game. Say for instance this DLC was suppose to make x amount of cash on release day as well as this amount of targeted players active during release. Obviously the cash will outweigh the players starting up the new DLC. However if they see the number is over the expected target goal then they will have exceeded their market value and expectations of the game. Now if the overall amount of active players is steady from the release date to whenever they set another DLC or new game they will have succeeded in creating a profitable game. They will also look at tye revenue generated from release date to said set goal date. If they annually make money from these microtransactions they will see that their marketing techniques are working for their investments. This can be good or bad. If you want to stop this I'll give my opinion below on how you can go about this act. Now to stop this act is to simply STOP playing the game. STOP doing anything related to the game, i.e. going on the forums of said game. This doesn't promote your cause to ending microtransactions in a game. It just adds a number to their marketing value. When the company sees a drop in game activity they will try sales, new mirco purchases and even new events to try and reel back players into their game. Just don't log in during the periods of these events. Also don't boycott on their sites or forums it just adds fuel to their fire. Once the company sees their new event idea did not generate enough revenue or player activity they will look to see how they can fix or manage their game that is slowly dying. Keep away from the game even if they decide to make mircotransactions a non-factor. Also don't buy their next new installment because they won't change unless they see that the mircotransactions are actually killing their market. As of right now mircotransactions are making Destiny popular and more relevent. You may not support buying anything in game but your log in hours support their overall money vs player investment. And logging on their forums just gives them even more means to spread their market value. If it generates money and fanbase it will stay. If money is made but fanbase is on a steady decline they will start to worry. Then once fanbase steeps low they will lose money regardless of in game purchases. Unless a millionaire decides to dumb money in the game. Mircotransactions can be removed from a game by player request but they have to show it. And writing a post about it on their game forums won't do a damn thing but maybe make you feel special. I personally don't mind microtransactions in games as long as the players can earn said thing in game. Or if said thing does not promote pay to win. The only exception would be like special donations to a fundraising event said game is holding. Anyways I will not be replying back to most or any responders. This is just my two cents behind this matter. Feel free to read it and complain below if it makes you feel better. Have a good day guardians and remember T-bags make tea, whether that tea is sweet or not is up to you.

            • You guys post that the people paying money are the cancer, but you people bitching about it are the cancer. I have not bought silver, nor will I judge anyone who does. So what if a child or young adult wants a cool dance move, it is not your place to judge, so go ahead and quit making these posts full of toxin on a forum I actually like visiting. I know you have to stroke your tiny ego, but don't do it in public, that's not socially acceptable.

            • All these posts make me want to go spend some money on silver just to increase the butthurt in here.... If that's even possible. Most of you just sound like haters who can't afford it so you are judging others honestly.

I'd go as high as 10 bucks. Less because I want the merchandise, more because I want to fund more (and hopefully better,) content. I don't however, as... well, I'm lazy and can't be bothered

            • Bump. I will never support the implementation of microtransactions into AAA titles. It's a pathetic trend and anyone who buys into it is an asshat for fueling the fire and degrading gaming for the rest of us.
