The Astrocyte Verse Is universally regarded as one of the most useless exotics to have ever been created. I have seen others asking to have it be changed to its data mined effect, but let's be honest: the vast majority of warlock players use Focused Burst and buffing Blink can only result in complaints and a massive nerf. That helm, if changed to a Blink-based ability, would still be useless. So, I propose that Astrocyte Verse be redesigned. I would like the new effect to help Voidwalkers excel in what normally is considered a "niche build". I'm talking about Energy Drain: [u]Astrocyte Verse[/u] Unlocks Embrace the Void and Annihilate for free. You see, most of the time ED builds are locked into a specific set of nodes in order to make their build work, but Astrocyte Verse breaks down that restrictive barrier and lets you invest in Angry Magic/The Hunger and Vortex Mastery/Bloom to really flesh out your combat effectiveness. Ever since the much needed buff to Energy Drain went live, Voidwalkers have become much more useful in PvE, but I can't tell you how many times I've sat there and watched my combo fall apart because I can't invest in both the essential Annihilate perk and the extended duration usefulness of The Hunger or watch my axion/scatter kills barely leave a dent in enemy numbers because I can't use Bloom simultaneously. Voidwalkers have blink, but that ability honestly belongs in the Crucible. Since a comparative few use Blink and buffing Blink in any way will just result in complaints and nerfs, I'd rather Astrocyte Verse simply refocus its effects on ED - the main theme of the Voidwalker subclass. This helm would make Voidwalkers have additional options for customizing their combat style while using ED. Do you prefer Tracking on your Shatter Nova, but can't justify losing that blast radius? Do you love using Vortex Grenades for AoE control, but can't justify the short 5 second duration for triggering ED? Do you wish you could use Bloom to amplify the effectiveness of your Scatter Grenade/Axion Bolt ED strategy? -------------- All of these things and more are possible with this proposed change. By giving some perk variation to ED builds, new combat strategies become possible and I think using your exotic slot for this freedom seems fair. What do you think?
