Great idea! I would probably increase the number of strikes for a guaranteed drop. Running the 320 light strikes with a good team (even with randoms), 5 strikes can be done in half hour average, depending on the strike you get. So each hour you'd be getting a guaranteed 2 skeleton keys seems too much to me.
Trust me, I wish I had more as it seems RNG doesn't like me right now, but one of my characters is already 391 light and I've never done any raid. Leveling up is a grind, but with the keys dropping that often it would make it hard to stay hooked until Destiny 2.
Just my opinion of course! I would go with a 15% chance at the end of a strike, and after 7 total strikes without a key, the next one would give you one. Or something increased a little more.
Thoughts?

No way your averaging 5 strikes in a half hour with randoms. Even with a great team load times slow you down more than you realize

Edited by maxxon_99: 10/21/2016 7:30:18 AMIsn't 3oC supposed to work this way? I.e. the exotic drop rate improves with each successive use until you actually get a drop and then it resets. Except I don't think anyone has actually proven it does... Edit: clicked the wrong reply link... I was talking about cumulatively increasing chance of drop @Cloganogs suggested below.

I was thinking the same exact thing. They should have a "Three of Keys", something to improve our chances. Doesn't have to be called that, but similar.

That makes sense. The actual chance % is up to Bungie of course, I used 20% as it was an easy number for the explanation. It should not be too low though, like one key every 10 strikes or less, as the item you get is also subject to much randomness. I ended up sharding most legendary strike loot because the perks or stats were really bad, so getting something good is not limited to opening the chest but also to another RNG.
