4th Subclass Idea! (Kinetic)

Note: Bungie could introduce a new kinetic shield-type to accommodate for these additions in PvE. Edit: Now that I'm re-reading it, I can see how a lot of this might sound like it's based on Overwatch. If some of you remember correctly, though, these are all abilities that people have been asking for since before Overwatch was even a thing. Hunter: Windwalker The light is your frame. Spread your wings and fly.
Grenades: - Apache Sling (Restrains an enemy upon contact; locks on like a fusion grenade) - Nerve Gas (Basically a Nightstalker smoke bomb with Envenomed) - Nightingale (Placeable turret that deals dmg for 10 seconds) Melee: Grappling Hook (thrown like a throwing knife; pulls you to where it lands; has a limited range) - Boundless (Increases hook range) - Talon (Restrains enemies that are hit) - Anchor (Enemy guardians/minors are pulled towards you instead) Super: Peregrine Flash (Grants a MAJOR boost to agility and jump height. Decreases gravity after jumping; you basically fly around. Greatly decreases Grappling Hook cooldown. Also recharges Melee and Grenade on cast; like Ward of Dawn). - Rally Cry (Grants +5 agility to all nearby allies) - Takeoff (Launches you into the air on Peregrine Flash cast) - Wing Attack (Press LS to dive-bomb at enemies below) Note: Armor is increased during Peregrine Flash, just like a normal super. While active, wings are seen flapping on player's back.
Warlock: Bladerunner Wield the blade of your mind.
Grenades: - Sensory Grenade (Highlights all nearby enemies) - Apache Sling (Restrains an enemy upon contact) - Shockwave (Emits a devastating and disorienting torrent of energy) Melee: Air Slice (Send forward a rippling wave of damage) - Trinity Mind (Splits Air Slice into three waves; Waves deal less damage) - Echoed Mind (Flies farther and faster) - Focused Mind (Use RS to control the wave's direction after it is thrown) Super: Heavenly Blade (Summon a katana of light to wield against your foes. Hold LT to block all incoming damage at the cost of super energy). - Light Alloy (Swing faster. Kills with Heavenly Blade increase agility for a short duration. Stacks 3 times) - Iron Guard (Blocking with Heavenly Blade reflects incoming damage) - Aerodynamic (Use RT to throw your blade at enemies) Note: Sword works like Arcblade, except attacks slower.
Titan: Taskmaster Your will, your way.
Grenades: - Fragment Grenade (Explodes into damaging fragments that fly outward) - Sensory Grenade (Highlights all nearby enemies) - Castle Grenade (Deployable cover-wall) Melee: Brace Uppercut (A fast melee attack that knocks a target back) - Counterattack (Knocks enemies even further) - Devastation (Hitting the ground knocks back all nearby enemies) - Adrenaline (Hits with Uppercut increase agility for a short time) Super: Wolverine Turret (Deploys a heavy-duty turret that locks on to enemies. Looks like the turrets in the Wretched Eye Strike). - Trojan Strike (Wolverine Turret can be thrown; Changes turret gun to a sniper.) - Barrage Mod (Deploys a cover-wall in front of Wolverine Turret; Changes turret gun to a rocket boomer) - Warmind (Wolverine Turret gains enhanced targeting and can move short distances to seek out enemies)
• Nice idea. It'll never happen. Bungie based this game on 3's. so a 4th anything just wont fit the plan. Just remember 3 classes 3 subclasses per class 3 aspects of light (what most call elements) 3 equipped weapons and weapon classes (primaries, specials, heavies) 3 factions 3 man fire teams (or multiples of 3 for other activities) 3 of coins Bungie's 3 sided symbol Illuminati confirmed (they are Bungie)

    • I've always thought it would be great to have kinetic subclasses that fill a more traditional mmo class definition (tank, healer, dps)

Honestly there is only one other form of light in my mind, what might that be? Plasma We need plasma based subclasses bungo! Warlocks: Plasmacharger Grenades: plasma field- A field of super heated plasma gas that ignites and burns afflicted targets while melting their defenses. Plasma charge- a grenade that sticks to surfaces. Upon detonation fires six mini charges in random directions which stick to surfaces and deal half maximum damage of initial charge. Plasma burst- a grenade which creates an expanding wave of super heated plasma upon detonation, damaging and igniting enemies in the blast radius. Melee: Plasma vent- a powerful melee which deals extra plasma damage and delivers brutal knockback upon impact. Super: Plasma Storm- the user leaps into the air and fires a volley of plasma balls from their hands. The plasma balls have limited tracking ability and explode upon impact with any foreign object. Any ideas for the other two classes?

        • For the warlock's super, it could just be three types of swords, the first being the weeablade (katana) then the other two being good swords

        • Sound cool. But I still want a subclass based around darkness.

          • I've thought about one for my Hunter... Idea: Trap Master (cheesy ik) master the art of destruction GRENADES:
Razor Wire - Throw able grenade that attaches horizontally from wall to wall. If enemy walks over they are heavily slowed and are only 2 shot EMP - self explanatory Door Grid - deploy at a corner of a doorway to create a laser grid that activates once an enemy is near it. Hightlights target and deals massive damage. Last 3 seconds.
Melee - Grappling Hook Pulls you towards ledges or near enemys.
Intense cable - Able to pull enemys towards you. Crank - Able to control speed you go up : (up and down) : hover In a spot for a while till cable snaps. Sapphire Wire - Increases range and speed of Grappling hook. Hitting enemys severely slows them.
Super - APB Revolt This super works a bit differently than others... This super is a insanely power sniper with 3/4 impact, but no reload. The way it reloads is like icebreaker, but the ammo is your super charging. It can only hold a total of 4 bullets before cool down is needed and it disapears. No timer at all when super is activated, so take the time you need till you die.
Cortex Fusion - Super charges faster Fusion Bolt - Increases RoF and increases impact Cautarize Shot - Delivers x8, but only grants one shot.
Idk, just an idea I've had for a while now

          • I'd much rather have a new class altogether with its own 3 subclasses than adding a new subclass to each existing class.

Here's one I made for the Titan! :) Warmonger Grenades "Automated Turret" Place/throw a turret that attacks enemies with arc bullets that can chain to nearby enemies in a certain radius for a short period of time (Arc). "Room clearer" Toss a grenade that upon landing, shoots an array of lasers in all directions. The closer the enemy is to the initial landing the more damage dealt (Solar). "Sonic boom" A grenade that when tossed emits a sonic boom of void energy that violently pushes all enemies caught in its radius.  Can be extremely fatal in an enclosed area (void). Melee Basic -"Riot strike" Lean forward and deliver a devastating kick.   "Burning Boot" Hits with Riot Strike causes damage over time. Landing a killing blow causes the enemy to explode damaging nearby enemies (Solar). "Arc Rush" Sprinting increases the range of riot strike. Hits with riot strike push enemies back (Arc). "The Downer" Hits with riot strike supresses enemies (void). Jump (Thrusters) "Basic" press X/A while in the air to active your thrusters. "Increased height" increases the height you can go with thrusters. "Increased control" Increased directional control of thrusters. "Thrust jumper" Gives a quick but, strong burst allowing you to cover ground quickly. Supercharge "Armor of War" Wield an advanced suit designed to completely annihilate the enemy! Basic - Fire rockets (solar) from your shoulder mounted launchers. Super perks 1) "Circuit breaker" - Replaces rockets with shock grenades. Grenades blowup upon impact (Arc). 2) "Forged for War" - Rockets gain tracking and increased velocity. 3) "Void Rage" - Replaces rockets with lethal beams of void energy.  Beams can also ricochet. 4th column "WS schematic I" Focus on Toughness and Battle recovery. "WS schematic II" Focus on Toughness and Speed. "WS schematic III" Focus on Battle recovery and speed. Synergies "One man militia" - Extends the supercharge duration. Reduction to speed and recovery but, significant increase to armor while supercharge is active. "World on fire" - While super is active, melee triggers dual flamethrowers. Flames can stick to surfaces and spread to nearby enemies (solar). "Power Loop" - Taking damage while the super is active will restore a portion for the next super. 5th column "WS schematic IV" Focus on all attributes. "WS schematic V" Focus on Battle recovery and Toughness. "WS schematic VI" Focus on Toughness at all cost. Ability Modifiers "Bombardier" - Special weapon pick ups increase grenade recharge rate. Heavy ammo pick ups fully recharge your grenade. "Trifecta" - Replaces grenade charge with a wrist mounted launcher that fires three miniature rockets. Rockets are unguided (Solar/Arc/Void). "Enter the fray" - Sprinting gives a slight boost to melee recharge rate.

            • Pretty brilliant post, but Warlocks weilding a Katana? Nah. Warlocks wielding dual Escrima sticks(Bathed in light) would fit them right with their fighting style. Great post op.

            • Very cool idea. I don't really think the turrets would work just because in crucible they'd be really OP. But for the most part good job on coming up with original ideas.

              • Overwatch-ish or not, it's a fun idea, and explores the only 'element' not covered by a subclass. Even if things needed to be changed for balance, I'd be interested in seeing this explored. And super-mega-clown-ninja-cookie props for not having every entry be immediately OPAF, which seems to be the norm when people 'come up' with an 'idea' here. Everything seems to have taken balance into consideration at a basic level, and I appreciate that.

                  • Why would anyone use a kinetic class? Maybe in the crucible. What they should do is add a new elemental damage.
