If materia-best heavy weapon in the game?
This gun has the same perks as chaos dogma, and if you can land all headshots, I hear you can get close to 240 shots from one magazine. Tefty said he was doing around 1200 from each bullet with tether and weapons, which multiplied by the max ammo in a mag, gets to around 300k per magazine. PER MAGAZINE. I think this has the possible dps to dethrone dark drinker, if you can get mostly headshots. Leave your thoughts on it down below.

I just used a solar version on Alak- Hul in the weekly strike with the solar burn modifier and absolutely MELTED his health, before he teleported the first time I took down at least 1/3 of his health. I recommend using the braced frame instead of the extended mags just because the recoil is kind of all over the place without it and the triple tap and double triple perks kinda make extended mags redundant in my opinion.

Just do the math really quick. 70 rounds? That would return 46, which would return 30, returning 20, returning 12, returning 8 returning 5, returning 2. Math is off a little because I'm ignoring the rounds not used for triple double, You get ~190 rounds, if you don't miss a shot.

It will do solid damage but won't scratch dark drinker, at least on Aksis. Dark drinker does I believe ~500k damage.

Best [i]legendary[/i] maybe, but not best overall. I just got mine today and I'm going to play around with it in strikes and stuff but I can't see myself using it much in the raid.

3 RepliesI havr it, it melts the captains that carry cannons, it really helped the fireteam get them down faster. The perks dont proc enough in my opinion.

5 RepliesEdited by puppyk1sses: 10/20/2016 4:17:58 PMNo. DD will still out perform it. 300k under optimal circumstances is pretty bad damage TBH. You do over 300k with just 3 cannon shots. Not to mention sword kills captains. Materia also has horribad stability. Outside the raid, it's pure garbage. A fun toy sure, but you don't exactly see anyone claiming SGA is the best heavy in the game either. And SGA is significantly better than Materia outside raid. It's serviceable under optimal circumstances during one encounter in the raid, but never the best choice. Outside, it's a poor mans SGA.

SGA can miss bullets and they get refunded, you never have to reload. Nemisis Star out dps's all lmgs. Dark drinker and sleeper are still the top dogs for aksis.

I want to get that weapon bad. Im running raid rocket / raid sniper and outbreak and consistently do more dps than teammates even using dark drinker

5 RepliesDark Drinker and Gjallarhorn are more reliable and way better at taking down majors, like the captains in WotM final boss. I have all three and Dark Drinker is my go-to heavy when taking down Aksis. I'm not saying If Materia is bad but it's not as good as it seems on paper. It is the best legendary heavy for taking down most of the bosses though in my opinion.

Ghorn does 300k and so does Outbreak Prime. Dark Drinker does 400+

1 ReplyI really want that heavy, sure you have to be close but imagine what it can do to the war priest, golgoroth or the archon priest on the winters run strike or any other stationary target. It would melt bosses.

2 RepliesWhile it might do more damage total, I doubt it does more DPS. Plus, there are very few bosses you will be able to land all precision hits on. That being said... It's damn amazing for a legendary. Definitely makes it worth it to use Outbreak Prime or Spindle

4 RepliesI use braced frame on the HMG, it lowers the mag from 70 rounds to 60 rounds. Makes those head shots much easier, and it still melts Aksis like no tomorrow. I can deal 1/3 of his health at light lvl 387 by myself, in one magazine. Tis truly an OP boss melter

I watched a stream ( I also got this gun myself and infused it) I'm not impressed it's a high rate of fire machine gun. It's not very accurate for the crit spots to activate the perk.
