It would be nice to at least have the option. That's all people have been saying.
It's a little ridiculous to have the end game based around a committed large-group activity when there is no in-game mechanism for creating large groups.

And yet it's not. I do pickup groups on LFG and destiny Reddit all the time. It's an MMO. Any other raid type event on any other game requires you to organize players. Classic WoW required 40 people. 40 -blam!-ing people. 6 isn't a mind boggling amount by any means.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but in WOW you can just walk up to people and talk to them? If Destiny at least had the ability to do proximity chat, that would be a little more understandable. But you shouldn't have to rely on a website or the console mechanisms to communicate with people. I realize it's not game-breaking, it just seems counter intuitive.

To an extent. WoW had global channel chats that were used for specific things. You entered chats by doing something like /2 and everyone in that channel would be able to see it.

don't those games have huge hub worlds where you can find people to do those activities IN-GAME.
