BUMP!
For some reason Bungie wants to compensate some exotics in severe ways. Almost if they're ashamed of creating exotics. I wouldn't be surprised if there are no more exotic weapons in Destiny 2.
Thorn: huge range nerf (25%). About 4 DoT nerfs over the last year and a half. Now the only thing it does is make the enemy green. Yeah, I know people say it stops shield regen, but I paid attention to that in the crucible and the effects are minimal to say the least.
Hawkmoon: Has almost no range. Even with the max range perk. Horrible recoil pattern. Pretty low aim assist for a hand cannon. No use in using this over a good rolled palindrome or lord high fixer.
Universal remote: Recent range nerf of 75%. Haven't seen a UR since the nerf.
No Land Beyond: I still think it was a joke of Bungie to make this gun an exotic. It looks like and acts like a gun from the 1800's and Destiny takes place in the future... Obnoxious scope that makes it hard to see your enemy. Weird reload animation after every shot.... I like the idea of an exotic primary sniper, but this thing is just weird.
Hard light: it shoots light. Something that has no mass. Yet it makes the screen tremble so much, that it is extremely hard to aim.
Not an exotic gun, but an armor piece: Achlyophage Symbiote. Gives you four shots, but reduces your super time with 3 or 4 seconds. And golden gun already has a very short super time. I see someone using an Achlyophage Symbiote once every 75 crucible games. And those people probably don't know it reduces the time of their super.
I can go on..... :(

NLB is the only weapon I use in crucible. It is a tank if you "git gud" with it.

Technically, the Hard Light fires superheated ionized polymer (basically hot plastic) at near the speed of light, hence the name "Hard" Light.

You obviously don't use no land beyond. Best primary in the game and the only one capable of one hit killing an enemy in PvP. So many folk diss this weapon until they actually get used to it. Plus, exotics aren't meant be OP, they have an intrinsic peek or ability that makes them unique. It's that unique ability that makes them exotic. Do some exotics need a buff, sure, but same can be said for all the weapons in this game, the balance is awful and always will be.
-
I get what you mean but most of the exotics unique perks are on other weapons in some capacity these days, they're just slightly reduced and renamed.
-
Now I'm not against buffing a couple of weapons up but I must disagree with your assessment on the guns you named. I got my thorn back a week ago and it's my favorite handcannon in the game currently. The dot helps against low and mid tier armor as well as giving you a huge advantage in knowing where the enemy is and the fact that they cannot recover. But if you want it buffed I won't complain. Hawkmoon is a beast in it's own right as it has incredible burst damage if you can control it. No land is scary in some people's hands.(not mine lol) Universal remote shouldn't be on par in terms of range or damage to a matador imo. Also on that note it's kinda dumb that shotgun range isn't balanced around the chaperone.

Thorn DOT is easily defeated with an artifact and any hunter can track a wounded enemy again not needed Thorn. Bottom line is if Thron was so good as you say more people would be using it and they are not. I loved the old Thorn in PVP and PVE but there are better legendary HC's......which is the entire problem for exotics. Exotics should make you have to decide your load out...now they are usually a non-factor.
-
Keen scout doesn't stop recovery, regardless of the damage reduced by silimar.
-
But the DOT is weak. It really doesn't help. A solid legendary can kill faster than thorn at greater range. I loved thorn but it's a sad shell of its former self.

The dot should be weak, it's a primary, it shouldn't destroy anyone who doesn't have silimar. Also the rof is high, making it excel at a closer range. That's why I use it with a sniper so I can consistently track and kill my target, or shred them up close. It's fine how it is, but if it gets buffed I won't complain at all.
