That's pretty tame. It's entirely possible to kill an enemy with firefly only to have an enemy you last killed explode a few HUNDRED times and instantly crash your game.
It's known as the Firefly glitch, been around since launch.

It really came to the forefront in TTK though.

that's wierd i never seen it glitch out like this and i play with guns that have firefly all the time in pve. Guess it just dosen't happen to me

What triggers it specifically appears unknown to the player base, but, it can and does hard crash games by freezing your game, likely due to the console processor or GPU getting overwhelmed and trying to display too many visual effects at once (Though that's an educated guess, at best.)

that seems about right, wish i knew how to make it proc, it looks so beautiful.

It's great when it doesn't crash you, but there's little more excrutiating than killing an enemy in a raid and your screen just freezes...Or worse still, someone else kills an enemy in front of you and it happens. It's less of an issue on Aksis given there's so few enemies that can be crit, but back in the first three raids? Yeaaaaaaaaah.
