Whats up with the outdated graphics?
I am sick of seeing pre-baked shadows. Why can't they just have realtime generated shadows? Like in every other game so far in the past 3 years. THESE EFFECTS ARE OLD AND OUTDATED. I have only seen a couple of games use pre-baked shadows this gen.

My father was a graphic designer for a some films in Singapore. He sees me play Halo 3, he's like "Old game, huh?" Started playing Reach and he was like "Wow. Is that really Halo?"

Good graphics are really being taken for granted nowadays. I was blown away by Reach's graphics, it has plenty of attention to detail. Have you ever taken the time to pause in theater mode and zoom in on a Spartan or elite, there's a lot to look at! In my opinion, the graphics are pretty darn good. Fanboyism isn't a bad thing, but it can potentially cloud judgement and create bias.[/quote] i suppose. you must admit it is flung around like an insult pretty often. anyway i really don't mind the graphics, and i really prefer the color palette, i was getting sick of the OOOO BRIGHT AND SHINY thing halo 3 had going.

I know the graphics are being tapped with the 360, but I think Crysis 2 will be far superior to Reach.[/quote] Their using a brand new engine yes, but it can still only achieve so much. Crysis 2 may, and probably will, look superior indeed but it will still not achieve anything truly amazing on consoles. Many PC gamers are slightly put off by the rumours it will have lower sys.req. due to them accomadating for consoles. And from someone who dosn't play Crysis, do they have as vast numbers of AI as Reach will be using and also the vehicluar combat?

But still, I agree, they should be a little better...

After games lake CoD 4 MW, CoD MW 2 and Mass Effect 2 is hard to be amazed by the graphics in the beta... I'm not saying they're bad, just kinda not what I expected... But, if Bungie is showing actual gameplay footage on the sequence right at the begining of the beta then I will not be disappointed...!! Besides, althought I'm a big fan of realistic gaphics you really don't put that much attention to them when you have such a good gameplay... But still a little tunning of the graphic engine would be welcome...! ;D

I'm not a game developer, so why would I try to develope their game for them? The fact is, Bungie said Reach graphics is similar as going from Halo 2 - Halo 3, they have obviously lied. And as I said before, I'm sure 343 can do a much better job, Reach isn't even close to games like Farcry(Which was made 2 years prior) or Crysis 2 will be.
