Exotics should be exotic because of how they perform in pve, special perks against enemy ai and such or special team bunuses. The suros being op now wouldn't make it exotic worthy, the damage put out by an exotic isn't what makes it exotic. The shadow price put people down just as fast as the suros. It's the exotic perks that make them exotic. Amd those perks shouldn't be made to do bonuses in pvp.

  • I have to disagree sorry, isn't it weird that the eyasluna and the imago loop (the 2 lesser versions of the hawkmoon) are more powerfull then the full potential of the hawkmoon? Thats weird! An exotic should be a powerfull AND unique weapon.....

  • Well when it comes to that comparison, it's not that they are more powerful than hawkmoon, they're just more reliable because of the weapon perk on the legendaries being able to help with more range and stability. The hawkmoon seems to have the most trouble with ghost bullet, if it didn't, it would be used more than both the Luna and loop. That and if you can get a handcanon at least as good as a hawkmoon then you don't need to use your exotic slot. I'll say this, the hawkmoon is broken right now because of the handcanon nerfs hawkmoon is still more powerful than both you spoke of its just very unreliable atm. I still think exotics should be reserved for pve, if this was the case we could get some awsome exotic worth there name. Maybe some exotics thay are specific to pvp as well that have skill nodes meant for pvp.

Because, that's what makes the gun not feel exotic. Suros wasn't exotic because it did 45 crit damge. It's exotic because it heals you and has 2 different bonus damage perks. Suros is very much exotic worthy in pve same as red death, those are very good weapons s especially for the raid. When guns like tlw exotic skill makes them way to op they become the only viable option in the pvp arena, so if they stayed away from thing that make a gun super strong simply based on easy of use with massive quick dps, then we could have some really bomb exotics. But as long as pve and pvp are one we cannot. I'd much rather have guns that do special things, not just do massive dps in pvp. Pvp is awsome right now. This of course is just my op. Think of guns like outbreak prime and the oryx one. Shit forgot the name. Lol. Those are very much exotic worthy. But not super op in pvp.

  • while the miniscule healing you get back from these weapons are minutely appealing, whats the point of wasting the primary slot on an exotic when you have heavies and specials that outclass them all in the damage field.

  • Well first of all the healing effect on red death is the same as the warlocks grenade kill regen for speed amd effectiveness, the suros is the same, they're both very very effective in things like I said the raids, especially the new one. Being slightly under leveled in most of the raid the red death is your best friend for sure. And not needing an exotic heavy for any part of the raid for dps, pairing a sniper with machine gun or legendary sword for yellow captains makes for a super loadout. You don't need a sleeper at final boss fight unless you're over leveled amd trying for a 2 round kill on aksis. If alot of people actually understood the fact that the red death makes a 365 in the raid play and stay alive like a 375. I'm just sayinh. Those thing are what make an exotic an exotic. Also if say I did agree with you on that point, you said suros was exotic Untill it was nerfed, well then the shadow price was also exotic then, basing this of dps alone is how archetypes become op. Don't get me wrong the red death archetype needs a slight fire rate buff to be effective in pvp but no one called red death crap when that archetype was op due to massive dps in pvp right? Well there ya go. The fix would be to give guns special perks that do things for you or your fireteam not just make em dps strong.

  • well to my play style those two weapons are just dust collectors in the vault, and the return is way to small to warrant usage.

  • They both fill your health to full upon kill, suros does it during glass half full, and red death does it anytime. The health regen is as fast as your normal regen for a titan or hunter. As far as the fill speed goes, and a life saver for anyone under leveled in the raid. I will be using it again for hard mode, just like in oryx and crota. It's amazing for pve.

Lol people dont claim the y2 suros as being exotic worthy if you never got to experience it in vanilla destiny. Focused fire with range increased turned it into a long distance auto rifle that could heal you

  • My buddy Mr Durva would out gun snipers on the moon map that was playable in control until it got pulled from the rotation. Anytime we saw a suros we knew not to stand in open sight lines

  • Suros is exotic worthy even today. It still could use a slight damage buff for pvp but it wouldn't become op, just effective. In vinillia it was an awsome exotic but only because of the perk combo. But it was to much for pvp thus the nerf. However now it really really good for pve use but not so good you choose it ove a purple. Another cool perk would do that though.

Oh I agree as does my buddy Mr Durva. He got the suros day 4 of the game and would love to use it again but the damage in pvp just isn't there anymore. Due to the constant AR nerfs he swapped to scout rifles

  • I see your point but I don't see why you can't have both. Not necessarily perks that cause quick kills but some exotic perks are specifically designed for PvP. Respawn with grenade charge...how does that help in PvE? It's not a coincidence that the community rarely calls for changes to legendaries, so if both can be equally quick to kill like you suggest why would they only change exotics? And I used to love euros, even with its perks it is rarely used. The perks should be unique and lend to the desire to use it. It should be a hard choice which slot to fill not because one has a cure perk
