Xûrday Inventory Review for New Players and Old Players alike.

Another Xûrday, another chance at great Exotic loot. You can find Xûr in the Tower North, directly beside The Speaker's room. Xûr is selling the Titan leg armour, the MK.44 Stand Asides, the Hunter leg armour Bones of Eao and the Sunbreaker Warlock gauntlets. All of these are very good for each class. The MK.44's increase the Shoulder Charge time, and also grant a tighter turn radius, albeit not as much as the Dunemarchers. The Bones of Eao are a must have for every Hunter, is it grants an additional jump to the double jump feature. They do not work with Blink. Then we have the Sunbreakers, the Warlock gauntlets. These are very useful for the Sunsinger class, as they increase the duration of the Solar Grenades, while also granting an additional Solar Grenade charge. The real prize here is that Xûr is currently selling the Trespasser, the new burst-fire sidearm. He is also selling Exotic Gauntlet Engrams. I'd pick up as many of these as you can, as they'll be useful for next week, where the maximum Light will be increased to 400 with the release of the Heroic difficulty for the WoTM raid. The Exotic Gauntlet Engrams may be unintended, so please double check before you buy these from Xûr. If it says "Legacy Gauntlet Engram", you will only be granted Year 1 light gear (160). Down below the gear we have two weapon ornaments, or weapon skins. Let's start with the most popular one. You can buy the Hawkmoon skin 'Moonglow' for 25 Silver Dust from Xûr right now. For all those unaware, Moonglow is the skin pictured above. Moonglow is a very unique skin, as not only does it change the weapons appearance, it also has a hidden gem. You see, when Luck in the Chamber procs, the golden feather design glows a golden colour. This feature provides no actual gameplay alterations, as it is purely for aesthetics. From the community's reaction to this skin, it seems like a highly sought after weapon skin, so if you have a spare 25 Silver Dust just laying around, I'd buy it. Storm's Reproach is the lava-type skin for the Invective. Below these are the Curios. These are items which change the way the game is played, ranging from aesthetically to literally. We have the Plasma Drive and the Void Drive. Essentially, these upgrade a rare (blue) sparrow to a legendary (purple) sparrow, so there's not much to talk about there. Beside these are the stacks of three Heavy Ammo, which can be used to give your, you guessed it, Heavy weapon ammo while out in the field. Another, secondary use for this is you can turn in these Heavy ammo packs for faction reputation. Next we have the stack of five Three of Coins and the stacks of three Glass Needles. Let's start with the Three of Coins (3oC). Three off Coins grants an enhanced chance of getting an Exotic engram to drop from the next Ultra or Major enemy you kill (Enemy with a yellow health bar and a name). Bare in mind, these do not stack. Use one and kill the Major/Ultra, and the pop another one. Popular to contrary belief, the 3oC do not have a cooldown. Three of Coins do stack, but not if you pop two or three in a row. Pop one Three of Coins, and if you don't get an exotic with the next Major/Ultra kill, pop another one. The second time you use a 3oC, you have an even greater chance of getting an Exotic drop. If you are unsure if you have already used one, go to the Character screen, and if you see the white triangle with an 'IX' at it's centre next to your primary weapon, it means you've already got one active. Now we move onto the Glass Needles. These essentially allow you to reroll your Exotic gear. So let's say you got an Exotic piece of gear, but were unhappy with it's stats, you can use a Glass Needle to reroll the gear's stats, for a chance to get even greater stats than you previously had. Bare in mind, these cost three Strange Coins, three Motes of Light and one Exotic Shard. Below is the Mote of Light. You can exchange two Strange Coins for one Mote of Light. Old players will already know what this is, so I'll explain it for you new players. Motes of Light have a wide-array of uses. They can be used to quickly apply experience to your currently equipped pieces of gear, they can be turned into your faction (Dead Orbit, Future War Cult or New Monarchy) for faction reputation, and they are also used as infusion fuel. That is all there is to talk about with Xûr's inventory today. I'll see you at the Iron Temple, Guardians! - Lord Aflame.
