Guardians and SIVA
There are some things I want to point out: 1) I have not played Rise of Iron yet, so I do not know the fate of SIVA. 2) This is just speculation since, once again, I have not played Rise of Iron yet.
SIVA has unlocked new potentials for the Fallen-- for weapons and armor, and for biological upgrades-- but what if a living guardian was infected with SIVA? What would change? What would remain the same? If a Guardian was infected with SIVA, the nanotechnology could upgrade their weapons-- as expected-- but it could also boost natural abilities. SIVA could be like an exo-suit built into a guardian's body, giving a boost to agility and strength. Since SIVA doesn't seem to corrupt the mind, and needs a central control for directives, this could prove benefitial for Guardians. Guardians will no longer have to wield Light as a weapon. Light-- as we all know-- is how the Traveler and ghosts resurrected Guardians. Guardians always have Light to keep them alive, but when they are overflowing with Light, they can release it as "Supers" and other abilities. SIVA, being a controlled nanotechnology that can manifest into many forms, can be a grenade or some powerful weapon to take place of our supers. In this way, Guardians can save their Light strictly as a life source, and might let them challenge the Darkness more fiercely. A hunter could use SIVA for enhanced agility from biological upgrades. A Nightstalker could give up a Shadowshot for a bow built by SIVA, and arrows that can explode with nanites to attack multiple targets. A Gunslinger can use a SIVA bullet to quickly devour a target. A Bladedancer could manifest SIVA into a sharp dagger that could infect prey after the initial stab. A titan could use SIVA for strength, like hardened skin, or something to add more power in the punch, from biological upgrades. They could control SIVA to raise a sturdy wall around them. A Striker could punch the ground and command the SIVA to spread with speed and ferocity to attack targets in a general area. A warlock could become a Technomancer with SIVA. Neurotransmitters in a warlock's helmet could add, or strengthen, telepathic communication from the Guardian to SIVA. With this, a warlock could trap an enemy with SIVA "arms", or rip off paneling to raise as shields. Is SIVA such a bad thing? We know that SIVA was a threat because Rasputin used it to fight us-- but what if we took full control of SIVA directives and used it to our benefit? It could truly turn the tide of the war of Light and Darkness... And let's not forget SIVA's main purpose: to build bases and ships with ease. Keep fighting, Guardians

 • Here's the only problem with that. Remember the OWL Sector event with the nanobots and how the Vanguard were panicked because he nanomites had gotten into and overridden out armor? If it wasn't programmed to be beneficial, it's could have very easily destroyed/turned the Guardians against one another. And that's exactly what SIVA did the the eight Iron Lords.
