I've most recently played a few IB matches and can't say I agree with the flow of the supremacy gametype.
So rather then tell gamers they need to change their play styles and go in with shotguns and specific classes like 3 hunters to each team, this post will be directed at the controllable elements of the gametype.
First suggestion: An enemy player kills you and takes your crest. You respawn, come back to where they are before they die and kill them? You reclaim the crest you lost and gain there's.
Second suggestion: Snipers need to have a viable option for crest grabs. If a sniper kills a player and shoots the crest? The crest warps closer to the sniper. This would apply to snipers only and forces shotgunners to play ball with them rather then simply run around and claim crests all the time.
Third suggestion: The mechanic where claiming crests needs to be expanded to promote people working together to get crests back. This counter balance is achieved by players who earn assists being granted partial crest completions when it is captured. An assist is worth 1/5 of a crest. 5 assists will drop the crest on top of the kill crest. If the player gets it, the crest goes to their team. If the enemy team gets the crest, they get the crest.
The point is working with a teammate to get it both to drop and getting it before an opponent does.
