Because, based on experience with previous similar games, when it came out I was under the naive impression that hunter's used guns, titans used melees, and warlocks used space magic. It was being marketed as a shooter, so I was like "...well duh, I want to use guns. Hunter it is" Plus, cloaks man. Gotta look fabulous.
