I don't think it's better than Control because everyone, it seems, still plays every mode as a goddamn Clash. If I'm not in a fire-team all I see is randoms running around alone and dying, and not picking up crests. I don't think shotguns are a problem here because this mode presumes everyone will run up to crests and that means that close quarters gun is needed.
