Title. It just adds an unnecessary advantage to one side or the other. It seems to be there to force pvp players to play PVE just so they can play the game mode they enjoy. Can someone provide an solid argument for the reason trials has light level enabled?
-
1 ReplyI don't actually think it does. It makes such little difference.
-
Edited by Sparknish: 10/5/2016 6:52:55 PMCause it was enabled for the past year why would it be different now?
-
It makes so little difference why does it matter. It's end game. Like you wouldn't go into raid super under leveled? If you're strictly pvp yeah it's slower but not impossible.
-
Because since day 1 that was the whole point of trials...it was suppose to be for the highest levels and gor the lower levels to have a disadvantage.
-
How bout you play the game and level up?

2 RepliesWent flawless as a 353, friend was 355 and our third was 362. We faced 380's but since we don't suck it didn't matter. Headshots kill. That's a fact.
-
4 RepliesDon't act like the level advantage is very noticeable. It's pretty insignificant.
-
2 RepliesLight levels dont mean anything anymore. After you hit a certain number, the difference in "power" is almost not there anymore. Only time you feel the difference is when someone is the minimum and you are the maximum. Also minimum is very low. Look at Banner for example, minimum light level you have to be to enter is 320-330 or something like that. So unless you are that number, you wont have any problem killing anything.

Uuuuhhhhmmmmm...............
-
3 RepliesBecause if it didn't people would run around with vex or thorn and shadow of veils
-
Because people would use rerollable year 1 stuff such as her benevolence, the ash factory and fell winters lie.
-
2 RepliesFurther adds to the challenge factor. A friend of mine went flawless at 350. Sure light level matters but teamwork, strategy and gun skill far outweigh light level.
-
2 RepliesAs long as your 355 light it doesn't matter.
-
1 ReplyTrials is a competition for pvp the low light players that are good at pvp will shine either way.
-
1 ReplyI've said the same thing since trials first came out. Bungie allows light levels to artificially increase gamer play time in pve. It's all bullshit
-
3 RepliesChecked this guy's stats prior to the light level increase. He was 82 and 4 in trials with a 312 hunter. He won some matches 2 on 3. He was bragging about going 82 and 0, so I had to check. While it wasn't true, what he said, it's still pretty impressive non the less.

13 RepliesEdited by Raider TCK: 10/5/2016 4:12:26 AMI mostly play pvp now. Which seriously gimped my light as its just not as rewarding and I haven't done the raid yet. I absolutely SHIT on 380+ players going into trials as a 358 this weekend. Check my trials stats for this week. I genuinely felt bad about it. http://destinytracker.com/destiny/trials/xbox/Raider1987 I had a 3.81 kd. 100% win rate and went flawless in 35 minutes and 43 seconds. Light doesn't matter all that much. Unless your going against players with 50+ more light than you, you will not see yourself at a drastic disadvantage. Light being an advantage is really just a gimmick and keeps people who are really new to the game out of those playlists for a few weeks. It also keeps broken y1 weapons like pocket infinity out of the games.

7 RepliesBecause it's..... Wait for it... COMPETITIVE!!!!!
-
1 ReplyBecause it is the end-game PvP option ( apart from IB).
-
1 ReplyBecause endgame content requires endgame levels.
-
2 RepliesI seen ppl 353 going flawless multiple times like it was nothing lol. I think light lvl should count even more so. A 386 can get wrecked by a 355 whos doing more damage, if LL is enabled then this makes no sense.
-
2 RepliesAgreed. It should be about skill, tactics, strategy, not who lucked out on RNG.
-
Idk. If it didn't I would definitely rock my Timur's Lash with Crowd control so I can 2 shot errybody
-
3 RepliesIt really doesn't not make much of a difference. Went to lighthouse with a 350. It means nothing in iron banner. Bungie are liberals.

18 RepliesSo that the hard core grinders can feel more skilled. No, seriously, they have this lunatic idea that enabling light level lets them show off how much more skilled they are, despite the fact that enabling gear advantages takes a lot of the skill factor out of the equation. If they wanted a true test of actual skill there would be set weapons to choose from and light wouldn't factor in. But they don't want true tests of skill, that's just the lie they tell themselves. It's all about n00bstomping, nothing more. Same with IB, it becomes less about skill and more about who's spent more time grinding. Sure, taking a fireteam makes tactical sense, you're there to win. But taking a fireteam of 6 against a bunch of randos can hardly be called a test or feat of skill. It takes far more skill to work as a team with people you've never met before than with people you know and play with already. It is, again, really just about the n00bstomping. And as such neither mode can ever actually be considered truly competitive.

Edited by Nightstalker: 10/4/2016 10:10:08 PMI played trials yesterday at 346. Its not too hard to perform well, but there were countless times i left people oneshot. As for my reason. It's the pvp endgame. It separates the "haha look guys i got full raid gear! Look at this sweet shader *pushes glasses up*" from the Spacing, peaking, centering, baiting, juking and sidestepping slayers and warriors who dont want to shoot A.I all day. Not everyone can raid, and not everyone can be pvp savvy.
