Tl;Dr version: use cannon/rockets 1 and 2 teleport, Black Spindle for last. I get 3.5-4 million damage easily doing this, regardless of how many times I stun. 2nd edit: if you're going to vote, at least try multiple methods (preferably including mine), then comment with your damage using the different methods. Forewarning: this is just my experiences, without hard numbers. This raid is too easy for all that nonsense to me. I've been running Aksis most of the day for fun, and doing some rudimentary testing. I've also noticed, by and large, that everyone swears by saving cannons for phase 3, and I can't quite figure out why. I mean, I do understand their point, but I think it's flawed. It's my experience that Aksis is rarely in one spot for very long in the first two phases, so you're more or less just spamming bullets at center mass and hoping for the best, then running round getting to your empowered station. This leaves a lot of wasted time, and cannons in WoL don't make up the difference. I've also noticed that sometimes the cannons don't get used entirely during phase 3 due to not having enough time and people having to scramble to mid. My method is to shoot the cannon during phases 1 and 2 while he's teleporting and you're getting set up for the next phase. With the cannon, you can fire, hold the trigger and run around, not even looking at him. This maximizes your damage while staying mobile. The charge will even stay attached while he teleports and/or during your slam. Dealing damage while you slam? Sign me up. Don't have a cannon? Shoot your (preferred WotM raid rocket). It deals bonus damage to fallen, very quick reload from empty, and holds 4 in the chamber when reloaded from empty. Pro tip: you can shoot the cannon around the same time as the last SIVA charge is thrown. If timed right, the cannon will hit right after the last charge hits when his shield is down, allowing you to hold the trigger and build the charge while he teleports to his first spot. Now, during third phase, while he is nice and steady, I like to unload my entire Black Spindle ammo, including reserves. I honestly don't even bother running to the WoL. That's a lot less time I'm shooting, and the added bonus doesn't seem to matter that much during my runs. The only time I bother with it is during the very final DPS phase, right before he wipes the team, and that's because I and WoL will always be center. I've tested my method repeatedly. One run, I was a 373 using my method, and a 382 who used the standard method (cannons on 3rd phase), and I out DPSed him every time by at least half a million. Bear in mind I'm underleveled while he is not (Aksis is 380). On all of my runs, I was always the highest DPS, except once. That loss was against a Raze-Lighter main, but that was only on my second run so I hadn't found my groove or perfected my method yet. Could a Raze-Lighter beat mine? I don't know. I hear good things about it, but haven't heard anything from mine other than disbelief. But every run I explain my method, people look at my DPS, and say they'll switch to my method from then on. Also, I hear good things about the Outbreak Prime. But my method is so good, I have trouble giving up my exotic slot to a primary. I also hear good things about warlocks with viking funeral, but I'm a hunter main, and I'm not really interested in testing out the absolute best DPS, hence why I put "best DPS for anyone" in the thread title, plus that only applies to warlocks while my method anyone can use. So, what do you think is the best, reasonable method of DPSing the boss? Standard, mine, Raze-Lighter, Outbreak Prime? Keep in mind I'm asking for boss DPS. Yes, Raze-Lighter is great for captains, but I honestly prefer Nighthawk for that. Quicker, safer, and generates orbs for people who need orbs. I might clean up this post later, but it's late here, and trying to get some people to weigh in while I'm asleep. Edit: if you're going to vote against my method, at least have tried it, and preferably post your DPS numbers using my method vs your DPS using your preferred. Using my method, I generally float around the 3.5-4 million range, regardless of how many times I stun (since I can shoot and charge the cannon while I stun), and using the standard method, I want to say it was around the 2.5 million mark. I'll grant you that if we're talking solely the 3rd phase, cannons with WoL probably out DPS a Spindle without. However, my 1/2 phase with cannons will out DPS your whatever weapons during that phase, that it will more than make up and surpass what the Spindle lacks in phase 3, leading to more total DPS through all 3 phases.

    • Yeah if you have a cannon for two rounds and someone else only has it for one you should out dps them. Even with weapons and or tether. That's called math.

TBH does it matter what way is used if in the end he's dead?

        • Just for fun huh.... I can't even get on a team that can survive an entire DPS cycle. I still have the Aksis phase 2 CP, still can't kill him.

Okay, now tell us how much damage you do at the end screen. Because I snipe/primary for teleports 1 and 2, and use a full cannon on teleport 3. Cannons are your DPS monsters here. I'm putting up 2.7-4.2 million alone depending on how many times I need to stun. No one else in my fireteams have ever come close to my damage. They're lucky to hit 2 million.

            • Seems like a good method, I like to run my sleeper simulant and what I call my legendary black spindle.

              • i have been running House of Judgement (Tripple Tap) Devils Dawn Thunderlord with Solar Warlock for the DPS grenades and have always been top 3 DPS in the group so i find thats a good combo.
