Bungie, remove double class item drops from hoard chests
Skeleton keys are frustratingly rare and I've been grinding strikes to get them with the hopes of getting a new artifact. I've gotten 5 skeleton keys this week out of dozens of strikes and EVERY SINGLE one has dropped double class items, no weapons, no artifacts, no other types of armor.
This is the kind of punishing RNG that makes people burn out and get angry at an otherwise great game. Please stop making double class items a thing.
Edit: yes, I've grinded Eris rep. I got class items from my last two packages and after so many hours in the court of oryx, I'd rather just play the game. I finally got an artifact from valus, after seeing people's advice to choose strikes with only one loot item. That should not be the case. I have all these cool iron lord artifacts, and I'm only using memory of Jolder because I can't infuse my other five yet.
Edit 2: Archon's forge is also a class item factory. People seem to be pretty discouraged from doing Archon's forge because of the rate of class item drops.
Important edit: look, I'm a hunter main. I love a good cloak collection and I'm happy to have a steady supply of class items. Please just increase artifact and ghost drops.
Extra edit: maybe the lighthouse chest should drop double class items. People would take more notice.
Tl;dr: Bungie logic: "We have all these great new iron lord artifacts. You'll never be able to infuse them."

Agreed. I have lost count of how many skeleton keys I've used on the undying mind without getting an imago loop. I think I'm around 14 or so

.... and faction packages.... almost every time i rank up and try for those elusive gloves and helmet to raise my LL... BAM! double marks! double cloaks! double bonds! double bam! at the same or slightly lower LL than my current class item! my weaps are high enough already that ill never get anything higher... it's the armor holding me back.... lol.

Popped my package last time, popped it this time. Know what I got? [b]Two Bonds.[/b] [u]BOTH TIMES.[/u] This is absolutely ridiculous and frustrating, considering how leveling up in Queen's Wrath at all is purely time constrained because of the once-a-week bounties and Etheric Light being the only ways to level up. The Bond should NOT be under Guaranteed Items AND Possible Items at once, it makes no sense. [i]</end of rant>[/i] So in a way, I do agree with you. Double drops of the same item / type of item should never be a thing, especially in an already grindworthy game like this. I get that they want to keep us playing, but they have to make us feel like we're actually being rewarded/progressing if they want us to keep our motivation. [u][/u]

When playing my Titan I opened the chest at the end of the Taniks strike. I received the Taniks cloak and one other cloak. I guess that I will save the Taniks cloak this time even though it is the fourth one I received during the past year.

Remove double anything. Got 3 leg drops on my hunter and not a single armour piece, but 2 rockets on my titan.

Class items are the nightfall ghosts of year 3. Class items, ghosts, artifacts should be SUPPLEMENTAL drops for every activity they drop for.

I've been extremely lucky with the chests so far I've gotten the cloak of taniks, Grasp of Malok, Devil's Dawn, and Imago loop.

3 RepliesOpened 140 packages in my main acc (which I deleted a few days ago, I was 386), and I got double class items around 40% of the time. Took the full 140 before I got a ghost at 383, my previous one came at 365 from a heroic. Deeply flawed reward system mainly due to a very small loot pool. But even with that, the class items are far too heavily weighted to drop

Your extra edit would be fun to see happen. I too grinded keys so I could get a good imago loop finally, spent a lot of taken King grinding for a fatebringer roll and never once got a firefly one. When the idea of the hoard chests came about I was like -blam!- Yess now I can get a good roll in a more reasonable amount of time but nope, already kinda annoyed I've gotten the class item a bunch of times and one imago loop, it was a very good roll but a crucible roll not a fatebringer lol
