I look at destiny 2 not as a "clean wipe" more as a new generation of guardians. You know since we are currently iron lords.

But that would make what we did for nothing. Who's gonna care about the guardian that defeated Oryx, Crota, Atheon, Skolas, and the Devil Spilcers if they aren't around doing anything. How can we create our legends if we continue to have to restart it over and over again.

Well look at it this way...your guardian is older, wiser is a leader instead of being in the fields. You play as a new guardian who is being mentored and led by your destiny 1 guardian. Those adventures we had that made us legends are now tales to tell to the younger generation who will soon be legends with their own stories to tell.

And how would that work? Every guardian we created is different. And aging is kinda complicated in Destiny I mean Saladin is over 400 years old. And he still looks pretty young. But if they were to make out current character leaders then they would have to decide on a single design for it to work.

Remember how we imported our characters in with vocal dialogue back in y1 based on race? If bungie was to give us the option to give our characters voice lines, and a personality as we see fit. Destiny is all about you telling how your story goes based of lore and the adventures you have. If people can carry on legacy and see it from a different stand point then...idk what else to say

But the story is about US lore wise all players are one guardian in the story. A guardian of immense light that is fabled to push back against the darkness. We single handily took down SIVA something that a 100 iron lords couldn't do. So how could is a guardian of Legend just stay in the backlines. And just making us start over would ruin the point of our guardians becoming legend. Espically since our characters can't be put into the lore as they have no official name. Their lore is the journey we create with them.

Thats the thing...we could be the lore. Think about it. Be open to new ideas. Holding on to an old character would be great, but if you cant be willing to open up to taking on a new character than you might as well not get destiny 2. Memories is what makes our destiny characters forever great.

Again we have no name, that's why everyone refers to us as "guardian" because we don't and can't have a name. Like a said before our characters are supposed to be a guardian of immense light. We took down a plague that killed the iron lords. We killed the hive god and his son. We conquered the vault of glass. We stopped the black heart. Having to give up the legend where we aren't even halfway through just to start over again would be nonsense. Having no our guardian age without us being able to see the rest of his journey would make everything we did meaningless.

The speaker, exo stranger, they arent names...those are titles not names. Legit they dont have names, we dont know very much about them, but they are still involved in the lore. Why cant we?

Those titles are their names. We are called a generic term and nothing more. If we were called a specific name or title that is used to identify us then go ahead by all means but we are only referred to as "guardian"

Again another generic term we aren't called by anything specific term. Putting us into the lore just wouldn't work.

So are you saying let our destiny characters fron 1 be in destiny 2 or dont make the game at all?

I'm saying that we let the legend of our characters continue. We don't need to restart, all Bungie needs to do is allow us to option to recustomize our character when we import them into the new game.

But...its not the same. Why keep that character if you werent happy with it in the first place. Then that defeats the purpose of transferring over or legacy because you just took your original character and changed them. Youre not using the same character technically. I see what youre saying, i do but i cant see myself having a character that i wanted to change since i started.

I'm not saying that im unhappy with my characters but there are people who wish they didn't design their characters the way they did. So adding a one time feature where guardians from destiny one have one chance to remodel their characters would help people correct their mistakes
