Anyone Else Low on Exotic Shards?
I have just about broken every exotic I had saved in my vault. Having to upgrade exotics between all my characters has taken a toll.

Yes, but I just go to my vault and dismantle a Year 1 exotic for my shard.

10 RepliesYou can farm them! Just look at your class item and see what type of weapon focus it is. (I believe rocket launcher is the fastest) then buy that type of weapon from the kiosk for 2500 glimmer and an exotic shard( for example I buy truths) as well as a telemetry from the gunsmith( I get a heavy for rocket launchers) then equip said truth and level it with motes of light, don't use the material to fill in the nodes( for example don't use the spinmetal. Then when the weapon is maxed dismantle it and receive 2 exotic shards! (I tried and it didn't work with gjallarhorn) Use as many times as necessary.( the telemetry is active for 30 minutes by the way.

1 ReplyJust use some coins on zur exotics and dismantle them. That's what I always do when I'm low. I'll buy a couple every Friday.

Sitting on 220. I dismantled all exotic weapons and armor that I do not use going into year 3. I had them all maxed out in XP so when I dismantled one exotic, I got two shards from them. I do not infuse exotic. I just wait till I can get the max level to drop.

8 RepliesJust pick up a heavy exotic from the kiosk, get a heavy telemetry. 6 emotes will fully level the exotic heavy. Dismantle. You now turned one shard into two shards! You do not have to unlock the perks either. Just dismantle after using 6 emotes and you are good!

Why are you upgrading everything? Just dismantle the old stuff. Use motes of light to upgrade stuff you actually are going to use. Every double just becomes Bonus shards for me.
