Hand Cannons in ROI are useless

Before anyone says "hand cannons are still great", I do need to point a few things out. First and foremost, scenario of use, ammo count, new hit boxes, and finally, speed of elimination. After having used hand cannons (I picked up a FWC The Wail with HH), and having used all except pulse rifles, I've come to the verdict that hand cannons are worthless. I am disappointed. Hand Cannons are my bread and Butter, the Days of Iron armor is literally made for hand cannons, and I cannot even use my favorite hand cannon, the Judith-D, anymore. Literally, the DPS of these weapons is too low. If you wanna get technical, and pick up a hand cannon and auto rifle with potential to deal the exact same amount of damage, hand cannons have a dps range of like, 50-500, whereas an auto rifle has like 350-500. 500 being max. Hand cannons, with their inaccuracy have a high potential to have a completely random dps count per magazine. Bungie, if you read this exact sentence, I want you to know, I specifically would be waiting for the day you make the decision to completely revert hand cannons to the way they were before this terrible inaccuracy idea crossed your minds. The day that my Judith-D becomes something more than a toy to play with for the novelty of a max impact hand cannon is when hand cannons become useful again. You do not understand in the slightest how disappointing it is to have to keep my Judith-D in the vault because it's so useless. Maybe I'll get to play with it in crisis heroic strikes this week because primary weapon fire is favoured.

  • 1-judith-D is a high impact handcannon and that is the worst archetype in the game boasting a similarly low TTK as slow ROF autos but with less kills per mag. 2-med impact handcannons are where its at, the vendor palindrome has an effective range of 34.5 meters when ADSing and boasts a high 70's range aim assist and near vertical recoil. 3-when it comes to ghost bullets, aim for neck/upperchest, ESPECIALLY at max effective range, your AA will "pull" that bullet to the head and you will experience drastically less ghost bullets. 4-med rof handcannons TTK is competitive with the standard primary meta choices. 5-a handcannons benefit is its chunky nature of damage combined with its verticality, that is, its use while jumping. TLDR: judith class handcannons are trash, get the vendor palindrome and aim for neck/upperchest, your max range will be 34.5 meters ADS.

    • The Palindrome, Finnala's Peril, Eyasluna - these guns are some of the most effective of all weapons in the game if you have a quality roll. P.S.: The Palindrome can be purchased from the crucible vendor, Yes, Yes, just go and buy one to make sure it is not bad. About the effectiveness of Thorn and The Last Word I should remain silent - we all know how things are going.

    • I think you're wrong, but that's okay. You're not going to change my mind and I'm not going to change yours. So in short, this comment of mine is pointless.
