Snipers are dieing
Due to changes with the sniper it seemed to be a bit of a problem to get kills due to pulse rifle/scout rifles able to stagger really well. Now with the addition of supremacy, and how increasingly popular it has become. It is pointless to use a sniper vs a shotgun because you must confirm your kills by picking up crests. In all honesty, snipers may need less of a stagger or shotguns may need a better nerf since it is still the go to weapon for all class. Juggernaut, shotgun striker/ Shotgun, thunderstrike stormcaller/ fleet footed shotgun bladedancer.

How does that even make sense? Really? Here's a hint - if you're trying to use a sniper rifle in supremacy you're not going to pick up a lot of crests. Nothing to do with shotguns needing a nerf or not. edit - and, if you're trying to use a sniper against someone with a shotgun in a CQC situation, you should lose. Just like if I'm trying to shoot a sniper with a shotgun at long range, I should lose. See how that works? Different roles for different guns?

I've been sniping since year 1 and I'm still choose sniping over any secondary, I have fun with the others but since the patch I can tell who did and didn't need the aim assist that's for sure and something else I have noticed as of late if people do snipe they sit back very few aggressively snipe and push, I do, and it's fun trying to out play someone instead of sliding in with a shotgun or something

Other than to complete bounties I don't use special weapons but I would rather take on a shotgunner in front of me than die to a sniper I won't see until it's too late. Also the standard reply from all snipers was not to nerf but boost primaries. Now here you are asking for a shotgun nerf. I actually don't think that snipers have been hit too badly. I still get 1 hit killed and snipers should flinch when shot with any weapon. Now I'm not saying that crucible is totally balanced, it's not, but it's a whole lot better than it was before.

Bungie modified the Take a Knee perk to specifically counter the stagger vulnerability they added to snipers. Try finding one with the perk.

Snipers are fine, they finally have a punishment in the game like every other gun. Shotguns are crutches right now. I've just been scooting around with my Fusion Rifle and laughing at people trying to rush me. If I'm not doing that I'm probably playing super cancer (Defender, No Backup Plans, Universal Remote, 2nd shotgun, Memory of Felwinter) and just watching people rage. I usually only pull out super cancer when I get stuck in a supremacy match and everyone has a shotgun. Super cancer teaches regular cancer that its not shit and to stop doing what its doing.

Since ROI dropped haven't faced a good sniper yet. All people do now is body shot and switch to a primary to finish you off

In part for sure but also another factor coming into play to consider is that in the last few months leading up to ROI you had a playerbase that had dwindled down, comprised pretty much strictly of pvp players. Basically only sweaties. Now you have more of the playerbase coming back and checking out the expansion and thus we are seeing more shotties etc as a result. But definitely for sure there's always the players who adjust thier loadouts based upon what's been recently nerfed.

Good. If you are being flinched out then you are sniping all wrong. The best use of snipers is not hardscoping, but quick snap scoping for no more than 1-2 seconds and move on with your primary.
