The problems of Supremacy (Not a rant)

I think I need to start off saying that this isn't a rant because I've lost multiple games. I've won multiple as well, same rules apply. And these point are from what I've observed from my point of view. It might be different for others. Now the gametype itself is pretty fun and a good idea. To me it looks like a mixture of Headhunters (Halo Reach) and the classic Team Deathmatch. However there are some flaws which make this gametype currently a lot less fun for some (maybe most?) players. 1 - Shotguns Starting off with the big one. However, they're not the problem on their own. Shotguns have always been a problem in Destiny due to their range and impact, where some builds are a lot better than others. Thus the countless nerfs. The problem is that the other Specials simply are inconvenient in this gametype. I've played with all Snipers and Fusion Rifles as well in this gametype and despite being horrible with both, I did get kills. Just didn't get the points, as I would need to walk up to the corpse to get the Crest. With a shotgun? No problem, you're already there and almost immediately get the points. This just doesn't seem fair to all other special weapons. And yes, I mainly do run shotgun. I run shotgun in every shooter I play, pvp or pve. 2 - Lag Not one game has been lag-free so far. At least, not in Supremacy. Rumble? Fine. Control? No problem. Rift? Little bit but barely noticed it. But in Supremacy? Walking over a Crest four times just to pick it up is absurd. Could've been just coincidence, of course. But those who have been in any of the Loot Caves probably remember that frames dropped once there were too many engrams in the cave. Now add this in Crucible, which has to deal with a ton of mechanics. Crests laying everywhere, a dozen players from all over the world connecting at once. Maybe the Crests overload the game? 3 - Supers Every Crest you pick up, adds to your Super. I get the idea, fast Supers, great push. But isn't it overkill? 9 out of 10 times, the winning team gets twice the Supers the losing team gets, simply due to being able to pick up more Crests, instead of kills (their own Crests help them as well), making it even harder for the losing team to get back, causing people to quit mid-game if the scales have already tilted in a difference of 20 or 30 points. And with a 50-point difference or higher, it's just an all-out manhunt for the losing team. Might want to lower the Super boost, or make it exclusive for certain Crucible gear? 4 - First push I've seen plenty games where the team that has the upperhand in the first points, wins the entire game. Not all the time though, luckily. But this ties in with Point 1 and 3, those on the team which has the most points in the first seconds will have their Supers before the losing team, thus being able to push again much earlier. This means that most games will be decided within the very first seconds, which is more the thing to happen in Elimination. Might not be a great setup for this gametype. Least it's not in my opinion. For example, I just had a game where the difference switched between 40 and 50 points for my team, where we got a 12 point lead in the first 30 seconds. We constantly used Supers and it just turned into a manhunt. I've seen people dancing, sitting down, jumping off the map and simply leaving. Only three of the six were still bothering to fight back. 5 - Maps of choice Supremacy seems to cater to small to medium maps the most. No surprise there, as those are most of the maps in Destiny. But this does feed in to Point 1 and thus 3. The bigger maps might not be a great idea either, but who knows? It'll promote different styles for sure. Frontier and Widows Court are probably the most diverse maps so far. 6 - Bounties/Quests This might've been the biggest mistake for this gametype. The quests/bounties more or less promote that people run into any Crest they see on the ground, regardless of their own safety. People fight over Crests, race towards them... even if they didn't make the kill. The priority of the individual does not line up with the priority of the team. I've done it myself as well in the first games. Simply rush into the game, collect everything without caring if I'd die or not. Doesn't make the game very fun, honestly. the bounty for Kill Credits though, that's a much better one. As long as someone from your team picks the Crest up, you get the bounty. I'd love for this gametype to become more popular and liked by the community, as it's a great game! Both pure pvp action and objectives in a good balance. Great for both pvp sides. I just don't think that'll happen this way... who knows I guess
