1. Offerings come in three varieties, but I believe you can only carry one at a time.
2. They appear to be nontransferable through the app (do any third party apps have ability to transfer them?) so if you have, say, a perfected offering but you're around 345 light, better stop what you're doing so you can Go vault it and hope to completely randomly get a more level appropriate offering.
3. It's totally random if you'll find people there. I've had some success running down to the warrens and coming back up, but that still just seems sloppy - why put it so far away from the spawn? If it's supposed to be public, spawn the patrol in the area.
4. Even if you do find people, once you've used up your offerings (never seen personally more than 3 others there) you're all done unless someone at random has gotten an offering that is of doable level or some rando magically happens to come along with an offering
5. Maybe just RNG but it seems like I get better drops of I get a shot in the boss, but if you happen to be trying to kill some of the puddly adds that still spawn in, or if you're reviving someone, very real chance teammate's with axes or gally rockets will have killed the boss before the done is half open leaving you out in the cold
6. Once again, bungie made an activity that could have been casual hectic fun for when a person has 3-4 friends online but absolutely no reliable way for them to actually play it together. And for the above limitations, probably not worth jumping through hoops trying to get two fire teams of friends together. At least in the court, you knew if you did finally get grouped together you could stomp baddies for as long as your heart contented (with the abundant stacks of tunes you could carry) not for 15 minutes until everyone used up their lone offering.
Sorry about the wall of text, but almost NOTHING about the way the forge was implemented remotely makes sense. Can anyone justify any of it?
Quick edit: this was mostly an exercise in slowing my own rage, but seems to have gotten some traction. Keep reading/commenting, maybe we can get a live look-in from Deej for some explanation

3 RepliesWe were in it for about and hr and a half yesterday and they just kept putting them in....I was thinking there is no way they can have any more but they just kept going lol

It helps to walk through the hallway that leads to the forge rather than running. It's not 100% but from what I've been doing the last couple days, you usually get into an instance with at least a couple people. Had a great one last night with 6+ of us constantly getting new offerings and not having any down time for an hour and a half or so. It was the same for court of oryx as these hallways are used for matchmaking and walking gives it more time to pair you. This seems to be becoming more common knowledge around the forums. I agree it's not great but helps a lot and we can keep hoping that they do something to improve it. As far as I'm concerned, if they put in a node form the map to warp straight there that would give it time to match into a populated instance (possibly even get a fireteam of three from orbit strike style then drop u in) and increase the drop rate of the offerings in the forge itself by just a touch, it could be great.
-
Agreed. Make it team oriented and let us carry as many offerings as we want. And increase drop rate of skeleton keys and offerings

6 RepliesAgree on all points - especially #5! Frustrating that you work your ass off but by the time the boss spawns and before you are able to land at least one shot, 2 or 3 players have already killed the boss. More often than not as the dome is still opening.. The Forge is a great concept, but horribly implemented.
-
they need to fix loot system. I was there for like 6 hrs yestrday and got nothing. People constantly would come in and get the sniper and I got shit
-
It makes perfect sense. They didnt want people to be able to grind all the rewards out of it instantly.
-
The only two things that were wrong with Court of Oryx were the play space was too small, and the only meaningful reward was artifacts. Going into Archon's Forge, they fixed those two mistakes, but then they fixed literally everything else that wasn't broken. It's so dumb.

2 RepliesI don't understand the point of the forge??? I've done it about 6 times and neither me nor any of my team or anyone else in there have gotten a single drop, so if you don't get any drops What the hell is the point of the forge i seriously dont get its purpose? Court of oryx is a million times better. But i thought even the court should have a separate mission icon on the map to choose.

Tips for Archon's Forge: 1. Pods seem to drop offerings. Make sure you destroy them when you see them. 2. When you get the challange for the axe kill the pod that comes from the sphere on the left or right. That's how you get the axes to spawn and the "Impressive." line.
-
Yeah, it is pretty terrible.

7 RepliesThe instancung is horrible. I'll follow someone up and we get separated upon reaching the forge. Or I'll hear an event and see a few names when I'm almost there and when I step into the room they all disappear and the event disappears. And why the fu## do you get locked out if you respawn? Either you wait for revive and risk missing the boss or you respawn and risk missing the boss while waiting for wall to dissolve after unlocking it. RNG is really bad too. I only seem to get an event when creeping back in from Warrens. And you need at least 4 or 5 guardians there to guarantee enough offering drops to run more than 1 offering each. Forge needs s serious reworking IMO.
-
Two biggest issues: Location of Forge. Inventory restriction.
-
18 RepliesYou should be able to launch the Archons Forge from orbit. You should be able to invite up to 5. Offerings need to stack.
-
Yea they really need a visible in game matchmaking system like The Division has for these parts. But my team of 3 wandered in there and 6+ others were there. That was fun. But the bosses died before the thing finished opening in seconds.
-
The main issue i have is how the bosses are not challenging at all. I mean the majority of the time the "Big" baddie is toasted before they get out of the prison orb. Just feels very anti climactic, I do like just slaying the enemies though it is good way to get some bounties done real quick like.

3 RepliesAnyone else been getting literally nothing other than cloaks aswell? Ive had at least 13-15 cloaks and no armor
-
14 Repliesyeah, some / most of the design choices are completely baffling. I would agree totally that its a cool space with potential, but to put it as far away from spawn as possible, and to make it a seperate instance, in building that sees no other purpose than to host the Forge arena? WTF?!!! Paul Tassi said much the same http://www.forbes.com/sites/insertcoin/2016/09/23/five-essential-fixes-destiny-rise-of-iron-needs-immediately/#6eaf53d32a28

1 ReplySigned as the first to admit that I took Court of Oryx for granted, because Archon's Forge blows.
-
8 RepliesWalk past the forge, and into The Warrens. Turn around. Walk SLOWLY back up to the forge. The game will match you into a live event. Works everytime for me. I did this for 2+ hours last night. Got a shit ton of legendary class items and a Saladin's Vigil fusion rifle.
-
Bungie epic fail on this. Also, if you put in an offering you should get a guaranteed drop.
-
1 ReplyThe part about having to damage the boss is wrong. I actually got locked out one time, and I didn't realize I could just open it at the console. So I sat there while my friend and some randos finished. Got a legendary titan mark when I came in.
-
5 RepliesWhat could possibly be the problem of 6 man patrol ? I really don't see why it would be and really don't know why Bungie won't allow it to happen.
-
Couldn't agree more. Horrible horrible design decisions
-
3 Repliesand what about how it's supposed to be a public event? yet when I am trying to get my 15 marks and legendary engram this does NOT count? everyone said it was crazy that we can get 15 marks and a legendary on EACH CHARACTER each day, and I agree, because it is so easy to do, but man waiting for public events is so boring and time consuming! I have three Destiny pub events apps and not one of them is accurate. EVER! sucks.
-
It's actually seems like it is deliberately far away from anything, not only for the patrol spawn location but it's also hidden deep within the Fallen structure. Terrible terrible design decisions. With court of oryx, players could stumble upon others playing the activity making it a true patrol experience, but the location of this makes it near impossible for that to happen-- you have to intend to go there. They need to create a second patrol spawn point nearer to that Fallen building. I've been through that area 3 times and the first time I got lucky and stumbled into a lobby that had 4 people there already. The next 2 times I went through however, it was a tomb.

Bump. Agree 110%!
