So as the title says, I'm looking at buying a computer. What kind of games could I play on this thing? It's just been built and it's selling for $1700CAD.
Intel Core i7-5820k (hexacore, 3.60 GHz, one-click overclock in BIOS)
32 GB DDR4 2133 MHz RAM
NVIDIA GTX 970 (4GB dedicated video memory)
480 GB ADATA SSD
1 TB Hybrid Seagate HDD
Wifi PCIe card included
Blu-ray/DVD/CD Reader/Writer
650 Watt power source

If it's only for gaming you really only need an i5 and spend the extra money on a better gpu. Also you wouldnt need 32gb of ram, 16 would be sufficient.
-
Excellent specs. But heres the thing You could get that same exact thing, but save a lot of money by building it yourself.
-
Good luck running minesweeper 60fps 4k, dont even think about running solitaire

Edited by Demon King Lamb: 9/26/2016 7:01:33 AM$1700! Damn dude. Ditch that 970. Use a 1080 for the same price. Get rid of that trash seagate. I'll never use another. Up the power supply to at least 700-750 just in case. The difference in price might not even change. Edit: Oh yeah. It would probably run about any game at max settings.

You don't need that much RAM...
-
everything looks great, video card could be better.
-
This will run Fallout 4 at 1080p 60fps on max settings. Just build it yourself for cheaper. With that budget you could probably get a GTX 1070 and be basically limitless.
-
Build one. You could do much better
-
Solitaire plays great on those specs
-
All the games.
-
For that price I could buy two 1080s You gettin conned if you buy that
-
For that price you should be getting better than a 970.

Edited by Martiis: 9/24/2016 10:42:10 PMThat is about what it costs to build one with those parts; so the markup really isn't that bad. But honestly the parts choices are -blam!-ing stupid for gaming at that price point. http://ca.pcpartpicker.com/list/pBXfd6 Something like that will run games significantly better at a cheaper price point. If you want an Nvidia option with roughly the same performance instead and don't mind forking over an extra $50CAD or so replace the Fury X with a GTX 1070 or 980 ti; and if you really want a Blu Ray optical drive just add it in, LG WH14NS40 Blu-Ray/DVD/CD Writer is $65CAD, but I assure you that you really don't need one.
