Do you have data to spare through a hot spot on one of your phones? This worked for me. Let it download from your hot spot for a gig or two and then switch it over to your home internet. It really does seem to work.

Well neither of us have the smartphone capabilities. But say I have a friend come over with their Smartphone I would not even know where to begin on "downloading from a hot spot" or how to switch the connection for the PS4. Maybe some info. on that could help?

In his settings turn hot spot on. Set a password if there isn't one. Then connect the Ps4 wifi to that hotspot. It's just like connecting to any wifi.
