Am I right??!
Felwinter Peak is like a NPC that pushes you off at its own whim! I know that SIVA is up there, I got about 3/4 the way after numerous attempts.
Now I'm just scared. Nervous. Twitchy.
Must be the altitude.
Edit- I did it... With a warlock! Whew!
I've died more times climbing that mountain than purposefully jumping off the top to my (opposed) death. Numerous times I landed with a sliver of health.

Did it first try when I was just exploring. Didnt know a cluster was up there. Its so much more satisfying finding it yourself

3 RepliesAt least we can literally have Sherpas in destiny now.

1 ReplyQuick question are Bones for a hunter just useful or more of a necessity?
-
3 RepliesDidn't realize there was so many people who don't know how to jump effectively. This is what happens when you have a casual friendly game.
-
5 RepliesI didn't find it that bad, I wish it went further up.
-
About half way up the mountain I started wishing I had my horse from Skyrim. 90 degree angle? Not a problem.
-
Takes like 5 tries if you pay attention
-
10 Repliesyeah, its fun for 10 minutes. 30 minutes frustration sets in 1 hour you want to smash your TV with your controller 1.5 hours the sweats and the realization that you will never get that cluster Then it happens, you make it. Thats your final try and you punch the air knowing that's the last time you need to do this shot ever again

1 ReplyI'll guide anyone to the top

I hope Xur is placed up there. Just max agility and take it slow, fairly easy climb. I do it almost everytime I'm there waiting for people.
-
A lot of people are saying jump up, then out. I second that, and add this: There are some frustrating overhangs that bounce you back as well. If you look at most of the tricky jumps, the platform that you jump from is shaped like a triangle. Always jump from the apex of the triangle to keep from hitting overhangs and for a clean angle to you landing. Hugging the wall makes some jumps almost impossible.

Edited by sprinbok: 9/22/2016 12:06:04 PMI don't know why our guardians still can't use their hands to climb things. I die if 99% of my body is up but my toes catch and I slowly descend in to darkness. Not just at the peak. Everywhere

WHY IS EVERY CEILING A TRIANGLE

3 RepliesI think maybe some people aren't good at jumping? Or don't really understand how jumping works in this game? You have to jump UP and THEN guide yourself to where you want to be. I watched several people try to make the ascent yesterday and I couldn't figure out why they were having so much trouble. I'm not saying it's not challenging, but I made it up three different times, and many of the people I passed had been struggling to get past even the 1/3 mark. So I watched them for awhile and i realized what they were doing wrong. What they were doing was jumping INTO the wall/mountainside and expecting their jump to carry them up the vertical face. But thats not how jumping in Destiny works. Much like in real life, jumping straight against a wall will simply send you bouncing back away from the wall, which is exactly the problem each of these people had. I assume that most people having problems with this have never tried doing any precision jumping in the game. Why would they? it's not actually something the game demands, and unless you spend a lot of time hunting for ghosts/shards and exploring hard to get to places you might not have ever realized how jumping actually works.

If you can't jump up the peak, then you're just bad at jumping. It's that simple.
-
I actually have been showing and helping people up there for a good bit, the last guy I helped was a warlock named Crowe something Was that you?
-
2 RepliesMy advice: jump straight up then push forward. If you try to jump forward theres a good chance you'll bounce off. And I'm pretty sure Bungie made those rocks so bumpy and slippery on purpose. But it isn't too bad once you get the hang of it. Has anyone tried getting there is the first mission? Would be easier with proper jumps.

I was raging so hard when I first tried. I was falling off that mountain for over an hour... I'm not proud of myself. I finally made it up later that afternoon after calming down with some other gameplay and then a friend (literally) being my Sherpa.
-
Made me think of Dragon Age Inquisition lol.
-
Not sure why everyone is having an issue, fell off a couple times before I had it took like a minute. Don't push forward as you jump. Jump up then move forward.
-
3 RepliesI feel bad for my friends who can't jump...
-
I like your title.
-
It took me far too long to get that cluster. Hopefully that's the last time I have to deal with that crap.
-
Yeah, I tried for about 30 minutes and gave up when I realised I'd only made it half way and still had way more to go. I'll try again at another time. Still, a nice addition to have something to hunt for in a social space but man the jumping physics are terrible!
-
Jumped from the top near the campfire and didn't die.

2 RepliesAh, I was wondering what was up there. I managed to get a bit high up but that's just a section that's just slippery af. I gave up last night after the tenth or so fall and went on to finish the campaign.
