Cauterize vs Embrace the Void

Why doesn't cauterize heal every kill? People screamed it was OP but embrace the void does the EXACT same thing and even more, and can trigger every single second?

  • Difference being: when cauterize was triggered every kill sunbreakers were literslly unsyoppable in their super. If nova bomb was a time based super that let you throw infinite amounts then ye sure its a bit broken and even then with the slow cast speed of nova bomb it still wouldnt be as bad as hsmmer of sol was

[/quote] It requires Warlocks to sacrifice their exotic slot if they want to self-heal every time they land a melee attack, which is fair. Glad I could answer your question.

    • Uhh... You realize embrace the void has a longer cooldown than cauterize right? Yes the effects are better but the cooldown is also longer. Oh and to get incredible effects from it you have to run 2 perks not just one.

      • You have to take into account that pre-nerf, cauterize activated anytime you killed someone with an ability. This included during the HoS super, which made Sunbreakers impossible to kill unless you used your super.

              Because of the fact that nova bomb is a one shot. You can't roam round the map throwing 6+ nova bombs each healing you 😂

              • Not sure embrace the void doesn't have some form of cool down. Or it may be inconsistent. I've had several kills not trigger it when catapult is on. But cauterize has too long of a cool down. 2s would be good. The difference is because of the synergy with the super.

              • I complety agree. When I look at a warlock and a hunter I see things that make them very strong in there own aspects such as the hunters with there combo of a smoke grenade and the wall grenade. And warlocks where you can spec a tree where everything gives you lifesteal and and grande that you can throw almost anywhere and it will most likely hit the target. It kinda makes me wonder what does the titans have that make them unique and we'll to be honest there is not much anymore I mean it used to be that throwing a hammer would be a good option but now we it seems that even if you hit a target dead on it doesn't kill them it just takes a lot off of the health you have to throw spot on and hope that it's going to kill them that's why a lot of titans switch to suncharge because it's a lot easier to get kills with but even than since we have to get close it opens titans up to getting super or shotguned or juked and I know that's a core mechanic of the game in all but I know for a fact that sunbreakes where not intended to be used this way. So titans switched to striker because sunbreak was just to underpowered and guess what happened? That's right they got nerfed. The shoulder charge was nerfed because of a artifact? Why is it okay to nerf a subclass and make it extremely weaker because of a artifact where with that same artifact it's going to benefit the other classes more? That might not be entirely true because the other classes have blink. And the one thing that really made me love the titan that made feel like I was rushing to the front lines was Titan skating that in my opinion separated the titans from every other class in the game and guess what it got nerfed. It's so frustrating. It's so hard to stay as a titan. When you can have so much more efficient ways of beating of guardians in the crucible. It took the worst pvp class and made it unplayable.

                • Perhaps reduce the nerf on cauterize from 3 to 1.5 to 2 seconds.

                  • Because during the super it makes Sunbreakers more of a walking tank with constant healing. Voidwalkers don't have a roaming super where they're very hard to kill in with healing. Both perks work great with their neutral game, however because it also works for Sunbreakers' supers it had to be toned down.

                      When they nerfed Sunbreaker they made cauterize activate every 3 seconds. Also Nova Bomb was a one time use while SB was a walking tank.
