I guess because some can one shot kill at a range difficult for snipers and too far for shotguns. I've been having some good kills recently with my Thesan. Very satisfying indeed 😀

Yes, but the trade off is you'd be a fool to challenge a sniper at thier range and dead if challenging a shotgun at thier effective range. I feel like that's how the specials are intended to function, with sidearms being the oddball of the litter that specializes in catching the other three offguard.
