About focusing on the flayers.....i dont think so....IF the flayers would be patient zero it would only be of importance if the virus was harmfull when looking for an antidote....since its not, theres no need of a patient zero.... Also....i dont think the psion flayers infect you, its just playing on that level that infects you since there's a dormant siva cell there... think about it, if the psions got infected they'd use that power to destroy us like the fallen are about to do......

Who is a warmind really! RASPUTIN is the only warmind that runs the show and nobody has ever reactivated the AI on earth! The last array is a level 6 story mission and a very frequent daily that nobody ever figured out the side mission to further our fight against the darkness throughout our solar system and beyond.

Just saw you posted this right before I posted my topic. Copying over what I talked about on my post. I tend to believe some of the things you have mentioned here. I believe the Owl sector site is "Bungie", but to play into the whole "a plague is taking over bit" Deej is denying it saying it isn't them and they don't know what's going on type of thing. As others have explained Owl sector may have connections through the lore to Rasputin. Let us not forget the other warmind that exists on Mars, Charlemagne. On the Owl sector page it speaks of a secret project being worked on by Dr. Shirazi, not much is known about him at this point. You obtain the Rasputin 2 ghost from within the bunker on a mission early in the Dark Below expansion. My thought is that is a direct reference to the conflict above. As a side note many players including myself have experience flickering of vision during the game. The Owl Sector page for Fortitude directly references this issue. "Current assignment is to quarantine and monitor the group of Guardians carrying overrides, care for any casualties, and so on. Easy peasy. No off-world missions and a dozen Guardians with flickering vision. My kind of job." Edit*** Another piece of this I am noticing is the OWL connection to this grimoire as well. Many people are citing that OWL stands for Orbital Weapons Load, which may have been used in this conflict as described in the grimoire. Another cool tidbit, is that I see Forbes just wrote an article eluding to this train of thought. Just my random thoughts on the whole thing so far. Should know more details come this weekend.

Has anyone tried going to the secret room in the dust palace after collecting all 5? I got in there last night without glitching so I think it's part of it. I only had 2 buffs at the time though. I got in there by joining my friend in patrol and he was in the dust palace at the time and for some reason it spawned me in the room.

Why are people saying they are keeping other characters away from it. As if it really is something dangerous haha it's part of the game and the whole point is to get it and see how it pans out. Don't be worrying about your hunters etc. Don't think they'll be needing any medical attention soon! Like infected people won't be able to play RoI or something haha On another note anybody know exactly how to get them. Got 2 of them from crucible last night but nothing at all today. Played PvP and PvE. Also ran dust palace strike and I don't seem to be picking up any of the others

I wanna take a completely different view of this situation. So all evidence points to Mars as the starting point of the virus but if it is the SIVA virus, which also evidence points to, but does that mean that's where we contract it? We know it was locked away behind a diamond shaped door as seen in the new trailer, so the House of Devils are on Earth so we know they find the virus buried there so we know that the virus was locked inside Rasputin. Obviously then, he would know if it was breaking out. So let's say he does know and even now the Fallen are digging into it, which they would have to be before RoI started. My take on the situation is that Rasputin is building our Immunity to the Virus, giving it to us in 5 stages so it doesn't overload us. As Frostpite said, it is all one virus and they have no distinguishing features at this point, why, cause it really is the exact same thing just not fully concentrated so by the end of this week we will be immune and ready to fight SIVA.

I was under the impression the flayers were only the host of the brillaince portion of the virus? Also, and I have confirmed this... Infection can also be spread in pve. Transmission seems to be tied to orbs...regardless of where they are generated. However, I do know that one transmission I obtained came directly from killing an infected guardian in PvP.

But why does the Vanguard consider it dangerous? Owl sector has the vanguard icon in it.
