This is my idea on what the Roman numerals mean:
-Roman Numerals on the shirt: XXVIII, VII-LXI
-Roman Numerals on the ad: XXIIX, VII-LXI
-Both versions all amount to 28, 7-61.
-Some believe this refers to the Battle of Six Fronts, and the Titan orders.
-At the time of the Battle of Six Fronts, There were only 4 known Titan orders: The Firebreak, Stoneborn, and Chain Orders. The last is probably the Pilgrim Guard, but no one is sure.
-This is what I think(It may be a little ridiculous, but bear with me):
-Lets do some math-
-28/7 = 4, which would represent the four Titan Orders.
-We can interpret that the Six fronts is a 6, so 4 x 6 = 24.
-But if you notice, the Roman Numerals in the Ad and formatted incorrectly, with the extra "I" inserted in. This could represent your guardian being inserted into the battle and defending the City against SIVA.
-We can also branch off of this conclusion:
-There were ten iron lords, as far as we know, and and since there are Six Fronts, 6 x 10 = 60. But if we insert that 1 in there, representing you, it amounts to 61, which is the last numeral.
-Lastly, If you take a look at the Officer Crest(The default Titan emblem), you'll notice that it is a big hexagon, which has 6 sides, representing the six fronts, and the whole is split into 4, representing the four Titan orders in the battle of six fronts.
-Conclusion:
So what I think is that this 28 7-61 could perhaps be referring to the date of The battle of six fronts, which date we don't know.
-and for any of you saying that it can't be the date because the 28 comes first, which in america is the month, Russia(Or old Russia, in this case) puts the Day first, then the Month. So the date would be July 28th, 2561, as the game takes place around 700 years in the future.
GIVE ME YOUR THOUGHTS ON THIS THEORY!

2 RepliesIt would make more sense if it was related to the Battle of Twilight Gap, as Gjallarhorn was forged from the armor of the guardians who fell during the battle thus imbuing with their light.

2 RepliesThose Roman numerals match the banner located in the vanguard hall. People have been speculating since vanilla on what those numbers mean. I don't recall a theory that ever made much sense but it's been a while http://m.imgur.com/gallery/8SOYeeu/new And the ghorn commemorates twilight gap, not six fronts.

1 ReplyMight be a Titian order
-
1 ReplyGjallarhorn was made after twilight gap. So shouldn't it reference that instead?
-
1 ReplyXXVIII - 28 VII-LXI - 7-61 And finally XXXIIX - Nothing. It doesn't even exist

1 ReplyXXIIX is not a roman numeral for 28, or any other number actually, it doesn't exist (unless you consider it a poorly done 30, which is what everything I can find indicates how that should be read) You mention it, but I don't think it represents anything beyond someone is an idiot. The rest is intriguing don't get me wrong.

6 Replies4 × 6 = 24

Its the number of guardians whose armor were used to make it. Solved.
