Destiny 2 Possibilities/Ideas

For Destiny 2, the community seems almost evenly split between whether they want a fresh start or to carry their characters over. From my experience with rpgs like Champions of Norrath or Mass Effect, it only makes sense that Destiny would be a continuous adventure with Destiny 1 being your rise from a common Guardian to a Iron Lord and Destiny 2 being your journey from Iron Lord to something greater (example Disciple of Osiris, and Destiny 3 becoming Agent of the 9) Considering we have accounts, transferring our characters shouldn't be a big deal. But to satisfy both groups here's what I propose for Destiny 2: *Add 2 additional character slots. Why? Well 3 would be used to transfer what characters we have in Destiny, and the additional 2 can be for fresh characters. You could also introduce 2 new friendly races that you can play as. That would be insane! That most likely won't happen, but just adding one more character slot period would allow veterans to keep their characters and do a fresh run if desired. ***In regards to carrying characters over to Destiny 2, there should be a requirement that they finish the main story questlines before being eligible to transfer. What would be the point if they are not even level 40, right? ***Now for what exactly carries over, I think during the transferring process we should be able to make slight changes to our guardian's look. Make them look like they aged or seen battle, add a scar or something. Since all our equipment is accessable, whatever guns or armor that make a return can just be copied into the new vault. Our base level of 40 will carry, but not necessarily our light level. If you doubled the base level to be capped at 80, then it would feel like a continuation, while giving new character builds plenty more to do. Our subclasses would also carry, unless new subclasses are replacing them instead of adding on to what's there. ***Another cool idea I had, would be if you released a mini expansion for Destiny 1 when Destiny 2 comes out, and have the events be taking place at the same time. In Destiny 2, we would be fighting a stronger enemy as Iron Lords and be lead deeper into space to fight the Darkness. But as we are fighting on the front lines, we get word of another enemy causing trouble, but as Iron Lords we are needed elsewhere and trust that new Guardians will deal with it. That's where the mini update/expansion comes in. Players can go back to Destiny 1 and see a new perspective of events unfold as they take place in the same timeline of events in Destiny 2. Complicated, yes, but it would add more depth to the story, and it would give people a reason to go back to Destiny 1, and maybe even assist new Guardians along the way. Just because ROI is the last major expansion, doesn't mean you can't add more content like the April Update. I mainly don't want to see Destiny 1 become empty once Destiny 2 comes out, and the best way would be to have small story events in Destiny that take place during Destiny 2 These are just ideas. Not perfect, but decent

  • I like your idea of mini stories taking place whilst we're on destiny 2. There's a problem with it though. Bungie clearly don't have enough people to make so much content. When destiny 2 arrives they're be straight onto the destiny expansions. What they could do however is keep updating destiny 1 raids and prison of elders. Bring vog up to max light 3 months after destiny 2 as been released. So then you'll have to go back to destiny 1 to play it. Then you can take vog weapons back to destiny 2. 3 months after vog as been updated then they do crotas end. It means destiny 1 end game activities are still worth while and people will keep going back.
