They are until it's a solar burn nightfall and they one-shot you lol. I think if you get killed by a thrall it shows a solar symbol

No, Taken Thrall are Solar Damage. Normal Thrall are Arc Damage. You can tell because their claws will glow blue when the swipe you, usually. The only kinetic melees for Hive are Knight Swords or being hit by fists from Acolytes or Knights. Oh, and Ogres.

I don't know about that. I've been one shot many a time by thrall in the Omnigul strike while it was on solar burn.

Are you sure there weren't two burns on? I'm telling ya, normal thrall have only ever dealt Arc Damage. Taken Thrall deal Solar Damage.

Omnigul used to be known for having multiple burns on. So I wouldn't be surprised if there was that one time you were getting OHK'ed.
