I know Bungie claims they helped us combat snipers with primaries, but I don't think they've done enough. Here is why I think that: https://youtu.be/n4emRg6Hh_I
I shot 4 times, 2 hitting the head and I believe a teammate shooting him too to give the guy almost 1/4 health left, and sniped like I was tickling him or something. This is why I get frustrated. Same game, I had 3 headshots and was sniped again at same range.
Still an issue.

1 ReplyIt's never enough for you guys is it ? The extra flinch is massive. Go pick up a sniper yourself and hit consistent headshots through flinch.
-
1 ReplyYou stood relatively still and the guy was using the Defiance. He is a practiced sniper so you need to start strafing unpredictably.
-
3 RepliesThe flinch is absolutely worse and harder to hit shots. Before the nerf, I could stay scoped in and usually land my shot after taking a bullet or two. Now, I find myself constantly repositioning myself as soon as I'm under fire. Do you snipe? If not, try it.

4 RepliesEdited by X-LoganX: 9/15/2016 3:04:20 PMSome people are going to be able to overcome the changes. They are more skilled. The major thing the flinch change did was widen the skill gap. Those that were using the easy predictability of flinch as a crutch are have the harder time with it. I definitely see more snipers disengaging or being killed during engagements that pre-patch. The higher skilled players will overcome. That's all that you're seeing and you only gave 1 scenario. EDIT in bold. Use the wrong coined terminology.

Yeah? Well, it definitely isn't the same to me. In PvE, my screen shakes so much it's hard to get even body shots on the sisters.
-
1 ReplyIf you run into a good sniper, more than likely he can land the shot during flinch. It's really not that hard.
-
Ok it's not supposed to be IMPOSSIBLE, it just isn't going to happen allways

Yeah I posted this to many of the nerf hearding scrub post about nerfing sniper. Believe it or not there are people that are -blam!-ing awesome at fps, they have been playing them forever. Some just play video games all day, and some actually get paid for it. Adding flinch, descope, removing aim assist will not affect them they are that good. Over time they find the patterns and can anticipate the flinch. You got outplayed by someone that is better at fps than you, it's not the end of the world. Suck it up and understand that ppl are better or spend every hour that you are awake practicing to make yourself better, because there are people out there doing it.

6 RepliesWell there are these things out there called... Good snipers. Shocking!

5 RepliesEdited by TripleZillion: 9/13/2016 7:08:40 AMHave you tried to snipe against decent players? It's a massive difference. In fact, when one auto rifle bullet from distance can flinch a sniper rifle into useless territory, I'd say the flinch is far too much. Sniper rifles are supposed to dominate long-range engagements. They don't any more. In fact, I don't think I've been sniped yet in an engagement in which I'm using MIDA and we enter the gunfight at the same time. Sniper rifles have just been made weaker than every primary. To succeed with a sniper rifle, it's best to camp, hard-scope, and passive snipe. I really don't like playing that way, but my best results this week have come from that play style. Any direct gunfights in which I'm sniper vs. primary, I lose at least 75% of the time. Hard-scoping and killing them before they shoot is more like 75% in my favor. I'd rather not, but that's what this ridiculous flinch calls for.

2 RepliesI think you probably lost the fight because you weren't strafing side-to-side at the moment of the kill - you were moving more toward the sniper. So he popped off a lucky shot. I'm an average/below-average player and I haven't been killed by a single sniper this week when I engaged them with my MIDA and strafed properly. Fact is, the gunfight ability of sniper rifles has been absolutely devastated by this nerf. Wait till everyone else sees how easy it is to counter a sniper with a scout, hand cannon, or pulse. As mentioned, even a single auto rifle bullet hit sends your sniper scope up to the ceiling. This nerf is going to get at least half un-nerfed -- too bad we have to put up with it for six months first. Meanwhile, best thing for us casual players to do with sniper rifles is unfortunately to hardscope, camp, and play a far more conservative game. Really don't like it, but it seems to be the only way to get a sniper kill with the new flinch.

2 RepliesIt is definitely noticeable that they up the flinch, and just because they did that, that doesn't mean you'll never get lose a gun fight against a sniper. There are still some great snipers out there and people can pull of some lucky shots. They don't need to increase the flinch past what they did.
-
You should have got closer to him, the closer you are the less likely your target will get a lucky shot

Edited by PeakMonk: 9/12/2016 11:07:15 PMThings are perfectly fine now. I'm noticing huge changes, both when sniping and fighting snipers. It is harder for them to combat me now when I'm charging, as it should be, and when I'm a sitting duck the flinch is fair now.

5 RepliesIt's called a lucky shot it happens all the time. There is no issue it was resolved so don't say it is still an issue...
