Hey Community!
So I just did a VoG run for old time sake. It was alot of fun!
But when I got to Gate Keepers I noticed the 'film grain' was alot worse here then everywhere else.
Now, I've got 100+ VoG completion's. I remember this like the back of my hand.
The graininess was very noticeable to me.
Can you guys see it?
Edit:
Can someone also please try to watch it on the screen you game on?
I think it's not as easy to see on mobile due to resolution.
Edit 2: As advised, 'film grain' effect in Sunless Cell strike.

4K Samsung TV Xbox one, no problem

On my ASUS HD gaming monitor it is absolutely visible. The terrible thing is, it is not a static overlay anymore, but like the noise of an old tv set. It's esp bad in the tower/character UI and on the dreadnaught. It seems many monitors do interpolate between multiple frames the console generates and remove the noise. Reducing the resolution to 720p also removes the noise effect? Have to test that yet.

2 RepliesReminds me of lower resolution rendering. When my HDMI card on my tv got hit by lightening and I had to switch to rca it looked similar.

1 ReplyI've noticed in darker areas it's super noticeable, like the sunless cell strike you put up. I wasn't sure if that was the grainy texture everyone was talking about or not since i thought that was just a new feature added to the strike for a more "horror" like feel.

3 RepliesI'm at work so I can't try it. But has anybody tried lowering tv resolution? Like from 1080p to like 720p ? Maybe the update messed up the actual resolution. Maybe it looks like that cause systems trying to upscale? Idk I just want it fixed... So ugly now :(

Way too many people have posted about this issue, it's obviously different since the update and no it's not our TVs. You can see it go and come when moving between menus, it's not there when the ships are flying in. In-game it's worse in some spots than others. An effect like that is sort of like cooking, a little goes a long way and it's way overdone in this latest patch. Dial it back a couple notches or give the option to toggle it on/off, please.

It's there so that when Bungie removes it they'll claim it was graphical improvement due to dropping old gen. Lmao
