The graininess is obvious, I as well noticed it as soon as I loaded the game after the update. It's especially obvious in the menus and if you're looking at the sky in the Tower. This isn't a TV settings issue, first of all it's not there before the update and it clearly goes away and comes back when you're moving between menus. Go to the character screen and move between the menus for the subclasses, weapons and armor and you'll clearly see it going away and coming back. As others have mentioned you can see it on the Postmaster screen also. It's also present in game at which point it's more or less obvious depending where you're looking or how fast you're moving around. Also my son has his own XOne hooked up to a different TV and the same exact thing is happening on that one. Both TVs are high-end Sony 55" LCDs with great pictures that have no issues with other games, movies, etc. It's one of two things, it's either intentional or not intentional and Bungie should let us know and hopefully roll that change back or give us the option to toggle it on or off. I for one find it to be a downgrade and uncomfortably distracting. If it's necessary because of the upcoming weather effects or whatever then Bungie should explain why and that might make it easier to live with but my vote is please get rid of it or give us the option. Hopefully a decision maker at Bungie reads this and considers the feedback, thanks.

  • Since they said they are investigating, I think it is safe to say it was unintentional.

That might have made it less noticeable but I'm not going to have two different picture settings because Bungie decided (or didn't) to add some aesthetic film effect. It wasn't there before the update it's there now, it goes away and comes back when you're moving between menus. For gaming we have just about everything turned off so it's not due to post image processing especially considering this volume of feedback on the issue, also the fact it goes away and comes back moving between screens tells you it's not the TV Edit - we don't have 4K TVs so not due to that
