Going from disc to digital (2 questions)

I need help on the best way to return to Destiny. I bought the collectors physical edition with the original game and 2 expansions. I have been gone for a while and never bought taken king. Before I stopped I had level 30+ of each class reasonably well geared. With the Rise of the Iron I am ready to come back, but have since decided to go digital only to keep down clutter. I think my only option is to buy the $60 Destiny collection digital in order to be ready for RoI, but am open to thoughts. I still have my physical disc but would prefer not to have to keep up with it. So my questions are: 1. Any way to trade physical disc for digital license for base game? 2. If I have to buy the full digital collection, will I still keep both my progress and my digital bonuses from collectors? Or am I coming in like a newbie?

  • Unfortunately, digits and disc base games are separate purchases. There is no ability to trade between them. Based on your notes history, I'm guessing you never purchased The Taken King? If so then yes, your best purchase would be Destiny the Collection. Characters are attached to your console account - sign in with the same Xbox Live Id and your characters will be there. As long as you haven't changed console generations, your licenses for CE content will also still be available.
