Engrams are decrypting way below normal level

9 RepliesI was going to make a thread about this myself. Since the pre-RoI update that just dropped, the RNG loot has been shite... I'm getting trash green and blue drops all over the place, but the Legendary engrams is where it hurts. Whether a faction package, Cryptard package, or engram that drops out on Patrol, none of those Legendary Engrams has decrypted above 266 damage/armor for me. Before the update, I was still getting trash, but my Legendaries would at least decrypt somewhere close to my light level. So that every so often, I would get something that would allow me to improve. But now? Now I can'r get a legendary to hit the old "standard" of 280 damage/armor, and they certainly do not decrypt at 300+ (which is where I need them to be to have any hope of forward progress). There was no mention of a nerf to engram decryption in the update notes. I'm guessing this is a stealth nerf to force people to buy RoI (so that engrams will do something for you again), but they didn't want to mention it due to the wrath they faced with the Y1 nerf before TTK. This is just highly disappointing. WTF are you doing in Seattle, Bungie!?

I'm 300 and I'm finding greens all over again. Worst part is I'm 250 on my other account and I can't get passed because all the blues are decrypting at level 39 or I'm finding greens.

5 RepliesLol they always have pretty much. Ever since I hot 320 nothing has been higher then what I have already unless it came from an exotic. So I don't really see the issue here

I'm having the same problem. All of the green/blue/purple engrams that drop "in the wild" in PVE (e.g., from enemies and patrol) are giving me rubbish, 190 light greens, 240 blues, 260 purples. Everything is decrypting below-level.

I turned in two exotics last night. Got a 335 ruin wings and then a 300 mask of third man

I tend to look at it as they are giving us these engrams as a way to get extra weapon and armor parts before the release.

Yep they incorporated too much of rise of iron before hand. Now it's kinda pointless to play until then

Expect the lowered player numbers because of this to be added up and used towards some twisted version of look how many people stopped playing during the week ToO took a break.. theres always a hidden agenda.

3 RepliesSo, I started up a new account because of lack of vault space... Right as I hit 245 the update hit making it very difficult to bridge the gap from 245 to 270... I was finally able to do this using a combination of quests, sublime emblems, vendor purchases, and exotics... I thin limped into a normal mode raid at 270 and that got me to 298, then the hm raid, nightfall, and CoE to get to 314. I am thinking they did this to make room for RoI engrams, but why turn it on before they are dropping? Bridging that gap right now by a casual player without a good fireteam would be almost impossible.

4 RepliesWelcome to my life. Despite my light lv. (315), almost every single engram I've acquired and decrypted since May has decrypted in the 240 - 290 range. When RNGESUS doesn't favour you, Destiny's smart loot system begins to sucks balls. Sucks doesn't it!
