How to be successful against snipers and shotgunners. And also a post about nerfs and how they won't help the game..

Use a fusion and a HROF scout. Personally this has worked for me tremendously. Basically what I do is I stay patient. I don't rush shotgunners even with a fusion because they can just slide shotgun under all your bolts and you have to charge up again. Wait for them and charge with out aiming and aim when the charge is almost complete if that makes sense. Sometimes you can when they are far from the corner but most of the time no. [b]--------------------------------------------------[/b] Their literally is no true counter to snipers from far but you can compete in some cases. I hate to say it but @Bungie give those snipers a bit more flinch cause not even my high ROF can keep them busy sometimes. All jokes aside HROF scouts actually can compete and I'm not talking about mida kids. I'm talking about Suros Dis-47 archetype. They do lack in a bit damage but from experience they annoy the hell out snipers, but against a decent sniper..not even a good sniper they can be lack worth. I swear sometimes I blow the opposing snipers eyes out and they still end up killing me. Ever since that mida Nerf. Snipers have roamed then crucible with no real counter and it sucks. [b]--------------------------------------------------[/b] Nerfing snipers and shotguns won't do anything but make the crucible even worse then what it is. Believe it or not shotguns have been dead and beaten on for so long and people still want nerfs. A real life shotgun would smash a destiny shotgun of their ever was a case like that. So if you're still dying by shotguns that's your fault. Completely... [b]--------------------------------------------------[/b] Snipers don't need a Nerf but primary's need to hit harder against them. I can't tell you how many times I've died to a sniper when they literally have a centimeter of health. [b]--------------------------------------------------[/b] Also another point I want to get across to is. Get off the meta please. I know it's what works but you need to see what people like me are experiencing. I tend to stay away from what everyone else is using and it works sometimes. Start spreading love about the weapons that are lacking. Nerfing weapons isn't an never was the answer. In some cases in year 1 yes but now no. If you are still roaming the forums with Nerf post.     I agree with get off the meta. Personally yes I do snipe for fun in like rift but that's not the point. I use sidearms and fusions with a slow RoF scout to cover their weakness to range and speed. If you really want to mess up a sniper get a slow RoF scout and try to stay hidden. In corners they don't look at a great example is on shores of time where you can kill a sniper from across the map with just standing across of the door way in the middle of the map and hit anyone sitting in that building near C heavy. Those pesky shot gunners can't do anything when you back up with a sidearm or get behind them. [spoiler]personally people will keep going to the current meta which is slim in pickings with high rate of fire pulses and last word it doesn't look like that will change until the next patch I just hope they buff back up primaries [/spoiler]

    Although I get what you are saying you forgot that if you can perfect the air born battle movement and slide movement of which the pros use you can avoid some sniper fire but this does not always work it requires you to conitueiously jump and when every so often slide in order to avoid sniper camping at head shot height in the bottle neck areas but the problem is that sniper has a very quick scope time and over all time to kill is shorter than all but one of the primary guns so I would still suggest Nerfing scope time in order to make it a long range gun and add movement sway so the scope does not stay centre unless you are stood still for 0.5 seconds as well as adding a bigger finich you will only see a change of the meta when something kills fast than a sniper or shotgun.

    • I agree with this just cuz u promote the usage of FR. I prefer LowRoF Scouts however. My Badger CCL has Who's Next(useless!) HCR, and Third Eye. It is my go-to gun when I'm not rolling the NLB. The HCR rounds ontop of the high impact of the rifle itself allows me to keep sniper lanes in control without even using a sniper. By the time most snipers recover from my first HS, the other 2 are already out of the chamber and he/she is dead -_-. I love it! For FRs I usually run a Thesan with a faster charge rate/rangefinder. However if I find myself in a small map full of shotguns I will run a faster FR like the vortex to counter-act more CQC engagements.

        • Bungee answer is nerf weapons to control behavior of it player base it funny they try still use my try crasher and my thousands yard stare I'm us the weapon I like so nerf away skill players will always come on top ps get gud lol

          • With regards to flinch on snipers, it's not that they need to increase it, it just needs to be properly randomised. At the moment, it's very predictable and aim assist gives far too much help snapping the reticle onto the head even when being flinched. That's the real problem with snipers.

            • To add to this, I actually find that the right combo of getting the first shot off and strafing like mad will mess up most snipers from afar (most; not all). Just make sure you're sliding/jumping around corners and into common sightlines rather than sprinting at head-level - that'll likely take away more than half of your sniper woes

                • All I know is scrubs who need to use 2 secondaries to do good are absolute garbage, if you use Universal Remote and a high aim assist sniper, you are terrible at this game.
