Sit down son, it's time to tell you a story...
-
2 RepliesIt's actually a line from the novel "Dune" by Frank Herbert. Bungie just changed the name of the novel's character to Master Rahool. That is the "loot cave" where enemies respawned constantly and guardians would shoot into the cave for hours on end to gather engrams to take to Rahool.

5 Replies*alarms go off* uh oh we got ourselves a year 2 guy. TWO WORDS FOR YA BUDDY
LOOT

CAVE
-
for those that want some nostalgia the one on venus still kinda works...
-
1 ReplyIt was an area where guardians gathered to cry and curse at Rahool for his wickedness. They would gather in hopes of a legendary, and then pray it didn't turn into a blue. It was called, The Loot Cave
-
1 ReplyThanks for the PTSD of vanilla to TDB. That RNG nightmare was finally locked away and you had to unlock it.

My clan...
-
8 RepliesIt commemorates the spot of the original loot cave, a place in year one guardians would join together against the ultimate enemy, rng.

2 RepliesEdited by PhantomMirage115: 9/5/2016 4:06:09 PMCome back when you've played in year 1, the time machine is over there!
I'm sad that people STILL don't know what the loot cave was.
-
Poor Taken tot doesn't know of the glory that is the Loot Cave.
-
as everyone else is telling you it's from the year 1 loot cave. These days it's just a warning. (We'll never know what hit us!)
-
Year 1 joke. Was a loot cave where you could farm engrams for hours and hours until bungie patched it out
-
Old loot cave location.
-
The infinite enemy spawn in vanilla Destiny was a massive engram farm. To get those engrams you had to kill a lot of enemies. Hence "a million deaths"
-
In vanilla destiny enemies would infinitely spawn from it and people would farm it for engrams. Bungie didn't have an issue with it but hated all the comments like, it's cheating, so they removed the spawned and put that their for giggles
-
Made some friends there that I still play with to this day
-
Yeah you had to be there in the first month or so of the game's initial release
-
Non year one player identified. Cease and desist all activities and help that poor soul. Those bones lie on the site of the loot cave. This cave spawned hive after hive into a never ending barrage of legendary engram seeking bullets.

The answer: you killed a lot a lot to get alot of engrams. A million deaths lets say. Any engram amount is never enough for Rahool, the cryptarch
