Why destiny is shit: gameplay

Despite destiny's shortcomings in many departments, it's gameplay could have saved it. Yet, as bungie chases more and more money to feed their capitalism boner, they failed terribly. The gunplay is nice, but almost all levels are incredibly linear if you think about it long enough, all guns feel the same, it's incredibly shallow, and feels incredibly non immersive, yet that will be discussed in another post Bungo advertised an open world. They advertised that me and a few friends could wander the ancient forests and ruined cities of earth or Mars at our own leisure, and this could have been incredibly cool, new, immersive (if changes had been made), and key word, INTERESTING. They decided, however, to go with a barely open world, there's no sandbox capabilities, there's no new ways to go about things or different ways to fight enemies like in halo with the grunts or elites. No enemy is all that different from another and the level itself doesn't change the engagements very much like it does in other games. You never fought in cool new areas, and when you did, it was always the first level of a new planet or area. Nothing makes itself apparent as different other than the raid, which a vast majority of players can't even access or view due to a myriad of reasons. It's like going to Burger King with seven hundred different menu items, all of which you know are basically the same thing except for the one thing that's priced way higher than all the other things even though it might not even be all that great in the first place. It would've been so easy to avoid as well, just bring vehicles back! Bring in vast open areas with combat frames equipped with scavenged auto rifles going up against dregs and vandals, let my zip through the battle on a heavy pike as I tether a spider tank to the ground. Make enemies much harder to kill, give them unique mechanics. Maybe you can get into a sort of sword duel with the barons and captains, make the dregs panic and flee when their captain is killed, animate us dying, getting dragged behind cover as our Allies revive us, etc Bungo advertised satisfaction in obtaining weapons. They said that someone with exotic or legendary weapons would be exalted as a hero amongst their friends and admired by those they crossed on their adventures. Instead, we got a terrible loot system involving 2 RNG rolls just to MAYBE get something good. And at a certain point in the games lifespan, basically everyone will have the same legendary weapons and armor, there's no sense of gratification to getting new weapons or armor because you've already seen some other numbnut walk around with all of it on day two because he either has no life or bought the preorder bullshit (another post for that as well, rest assured) the simple solution would've been to make the guns look like actual guns and not the engram BS, as well as to make good weapons much rarer and thus much more INTERESTING to find. It's all very shallow. None of the weapons introduce new or interesting mechanics, regardless of their rarity. You kill an enemy, the same enemy, with a white gun the same way you kill that same enemy with a yellow one, there's no interesting mechanics in the game utilizing them or making them seem stronger than the others. In year two, they even do the same damage as normal purple guns, therefore rendering them generally useless with the exception of only a few different weapons. The simple solution would be to add something interesting to each gun or gun type. Give this gun a grenade launcher, make this gun explode in your face if an enemy shoots you just right, but make it mad powerful, etc. And thus begins the shitstorm.
